<==== was at the game

If I remember correctly, game wasn't as close as the score. UNLV hit a couple of 3s in the last few seconds.

LSU beat UNLV twice in the Chris Jackon era, but they were not ranked #1 in either game. On 2/25/89, 18th ranked LSU defeated 20th ranked UNLV 88-87 @ the PMAC. The following season (89-90) #16 LSU defeated the 5th ranked Running Rebs 107-105 on 1/28/90. UNLV defeated LSU 76-55 in Nov of 91 after CJ left.

Correction to post above... LSU was ranked 20th & UNLV was ranked 18th on 2/25/89. I got it backwards...

larry johnson didn't play in that game, forgot if he was hurt or suspended.

could have sworn LJ played. think he was #4, wore an undershirt under his uniform and was a damn handful.

Also, i thought we started CJ, Shaq or Roberts, Vernel, Mo Williamson, and maybe Wayne Sims.

this was the 109-105 game. i think that was the score.

Loudest LSU sporting event i have ever been to, and the most fun sporting event to watch as wel.

i think i spelled his name wrong...Hansen seems more correct. I can't forget that guy. he reminded me of an Ewok. Hairy little dude that could hit the 3-ball. Transfer from UT-Martin i think. We played against them, he lit us up, and Dale got him to transfer.

I think its Hansen too and I seem to recall him on those late 80's/early 90's teams with CJ.

yeah, and the other token white guards around the time of Shaq were Dennis Tracy and Justin "Doc" Anderson.
