If you haven't seen The Others you might want to go ahead and do it.

With Nicole Kidman? Yeah, that was pretty good.

Movies like this and Saw aren't scary IMO, they are just nauseating. I was forced to watch part of Hostel and it's just a bunch of sick and twisted human torture. People who write those scripts should be locked away in the nut house b/c no normal person thinks up that kind of crap.

Problem is that these days, horror movie aren't scary because you can watch TV or go in the internet and be scared. Almost every day we see scary things on tv. 9/11 and such.

this is very true. i watched a scary movie with a gf and she never flinched. i was surprised that she did not even bat an eye and she said she has witnessed more fricked up things with her sister. so scary movies don't bother her.

her sis was royally fricked in the head.

The Orphanage is a creepy movie. That's the most nervous and tense I've ever been while watching a movie. The house excorcism was eerie, with that medium lady in nightvision.

Cocomo, you will get used to the subtitles 15-20 minutes into the movie. I asked my sister about the movie the day after she watched it, and she had completely forgotten it was in subtitles.

I like the Saw movies, but probably the most recent I saw was Untraceable. It didn't scare me, but it was cool to see the death scenes. Plus I like Diane Lane.

The first Saw is more Suspense/Thriller than "scarey". It was very good from the suspense aspect.

The Others = A Sixth Sense Knockoff, good but it was unoriginal and has no rewatchability.

I'll put it this way, had The Orphanage been in english, people on here would be saying it was one of the best horror films they have seen in years.

agreed, they are just gory for the sake of being gory. id much rather a "the others", "signs" etc, that make you think, or make you put yourself in that situation and think about what you would do. Not so much horror, but suspense, 88 minutes & eagle eye were pretty good.
