He fricking said it on record. You don't think the jury watches TV or reads social media on their phones? I don't know if he said it in front of them. The big deal is he said it.

Yuck. By who?

I know some NY judges are elected, but their whole court system is whack. Exhibit A: the NY “Supreme Court” not being a Supreme Court

Yep! And probably paid handsomely for being the henchman.

that would likely be proper.

Wait, you are saying that perjury is proper in this case? Because they are from New York? How do you allow perjury when you are blocking testimony for the defense, labelling it as confusing to the jury?

I mean just think what would happen to Merchan if he took this case out of their hands before Trump even had to sit for a jury verdict. His career would be over, his New York social life ended. He'd always be stained as the guy who let Trump walk free.

Meanwhile his daughter who's fundraising in political circles off this sham would have those doors slammed shut in her face. She'd probably never forgive Daddy.

The judge in the criminal trial of former President Donald J. Trump said on Monday that the case would take longer than anticipated to wrap up, with closing arguments now not expected until next week.

“It was either have a long break now or have a long break then, and unfortunately the calendar is what it is,” said the judge, Juan M. Merchan, referring to the long weekend for Memorial Day.

Yeah, I’m sure he’s giving the directed verdict fair consideration.

No, I said that witness credibility is generally for the jury to decide as the trier of fact.

I also said that the judge in this case has basically tainted the trial to the point it’s going to have to be redone if it results in anything other than acquittal.

If I'm on that jury and I heard that judges statement it sounds to me that the judge is agreeing that Cohen lied and we shouldn't be fooled by his false statements.

That's not the way I read that judge's statement, but okay.

Right. Me either, which is why I talked about how such things are generally handled outside of this case.

Calm down mate. I was asking a simple question. I don't disagree with you, but it would have been even more brazen if it were in front of the jury.

This Merchan's only chance to validate himself and his libtard political hackness. No chance he dismisses.

Yet, there are lawyers here who defend and "explain" this 3rd world kangaroo court bs

From my jaundiced perspective, the majority of lawyers plying their trade, at almost any moment in time, are engaged either in the circumvention of the law, the exoneration of criminals, the deconstruction of the letter and the spirit of the Constitution, the distortion of objective reality, legal blackmail, the overthrow of discernible truth, the manipulation of the ignorant masses, or the defeat of justice.
