It’s all in the method of reheating.
Fries can come out good in the toaster oven as long as you don’t overlook.
Rice can come out almost as good as fresh. Trick is to put in microwave on a setting no higher than 5. Cover bowl with a thick wet paper towel. Place a bigger bowl on top or one of those microwave cover things. Let go for about 90 seconds. Remove. Stir. Then back in for another minute or so. Repeat if necessary.
Pasta is same method as rice. Make sure to stir midway through and don’t have sauce all on top over the pasta. Ideally reheat pasta without sauce.

Steak and chicken just don’t taste the same reheated. Unless it’s shredded chicken, that’s a little different. Steak is just too chewy reheated and who tf saves French fries?

Steak reheated in a skillet in butter slowly should not be chewy.

Tomatoes are ruined once refrigerated.

Reheat fries in an air fryer. Very easy and they come out about as good.

cold French Fry sandwich was one of my dad's (RIP) favorites. Made pretty much the way you say. He loved them. I hadn't thought about that in a long time. Thanks for bring back an old good memory to me.
He was likely an older fellow.
The man who taught me about a fried Irish potato sandwich was born in 1925.

Anything cooked on charcoal always has an odd taste to me when reheated.

just give it to the dogs. that ribeye isn't going to taste 1/10th as good as it did fresh off the grill.

Not at all. Chop into cubes and make an omelet with it the next day.

That's just not true. In fact, some dishes (particularly ones with tomato sauce such as lasagna) taste better after a day or two. If I have time, I make my lasagna sauce the day before assembling the dish.

Chicken....
You can refry the French fries and they are crunchy again

Microwave can be perfectly fine if you use it correctly for certain things

I'll agree that a burger patty (especially after grilling) is difficult. Otherwise, most leftovers are pretty good if warmed and/or repurposed properly.
First tip is to never use the microwave unless the dish was heavy on sauce to begin with. Soups, stews, chilis, etouffees, pasta sauces, etc. are fine. Otherwise, the microwave is not your best reheating device.
For most grilled meats (steak, pork, chicken, etc.) I'll slice it thin and sauté with onions and peppers or a sauce and usually use it for a sandwich or fajitas. If you want to keep that steak or chop whole for the next meal, don't overlook the sous vide as a reheating device.
Fried stuff goes in the air fryer, convection oven, or dropped back in the oil briefly to heat and crisp. I'm also not above eating cold fried chicken right out of the fridge.
Pizza is eaten cold or heated in the toaster oven.
Pasta and rice just needs a little liquid added before reheating on the stove or even in the microwave.
