I just looked it up & Cardi’s was a live rock venue in Houston that closed in the mid 80’s. The lineup for that week is amazing. I wish I could have gone to all of those shows.

wonder what it cost back then to have those 4 bands play at your venue in one week?

That artist has a full line of nostalgia paintings of Houston bars and music venues. I think that image might just be representative of the acts that played there over the years, not necessarily an image of them all playing there in one week.

Cardi's was a stripmall club in the Galleria area of Houston when the Galleria area was still cool. Pretty legendary; even U2 played there before they got huge.

They opened for Pearl Jam in 2000 and they played Voodoo Fest in 2004 (that was a stacked fricking day - The Pixies, Green Day and the Beastie Boys followed them)

My first Tiptitina’s show started at 3:30 am on April 25 2008. The Disco Biscuits late night Jazz Fest. Walked out of the venue around 7.30 am. Show was hot. Mind = blown...Big night.

The easiest way (by far) for a venue to get a quick thumbs up from me is a giant water cooler and plastic cups.

I was at the Love and Rockets/Jane’s Addiction show, too. Another good one was the invitation only Nine Inch Nails show during the summer of 1991.

Widespread Panic in the early nineties and Butthole Surfers in early 2000's were both interesting.

Later that summer Consolidated and Meat Beat Manifesto played a show with a hip hop dancer named Jack. If you were at the show you saw him. White guy dancing with a Moses shepherd style walking stick. Tons of younger women watching him dance. It was a good time.

Any chance you saw Viv Akauldron at The Bayou on Chimes Street? Ten out of ten

Used to listen to Meat Beat Manifesto and Consolodated, but can't remember if I went to that show. Over 30 years ago and multiple shows tend to blend and fade.
