2 kids and significant other at home - no reason you should ever get into any kind of bar fight
and once you left bar, get in your car with your friends and leave assuming on can drive

This also goes to show how ridiculous initial reports can be. This all started with “he was curb stomped”

"During their investigation, officers were able to retrieve surveillance video from Fred’s bar. The camera inside the outdoor tent area of Fred’s bar showed a group of guys talking to two other guys. Arresting documents say, “During the conversation, Devin Repath walks behind several of his friends and punches (redacted name) in the head. That person then falls to the ground. The groups are separated.” A little while later, three guys are seen walking around with Matthew Marsiglia, the suspect arrested in connection to Repath’s death. Arresting documents continue to say, “Repath is then seen backing out of the bar while exchanging words with (Redacted name) and Marsiglia. Repath backs up into the parking lot and about halfway into the parking lot, Repath stops and attempts to hit Marsiglia. Marsiglia ducks and is not hit. Repath then backs up several steps and Marsiglia then takes both hands and shoves Repath by the shoulders

Well there goes that one punch theory

The problem for MM is if repath was backing up and disengaging, you’re not defending at that point. Especially since DR did not strike MM

Police agencies all across the country release critical incident videos on youtube to inform the public of what happened. BRPD should release all surveillance videos from this incident.

I mean yeh, it wasn’t even a punch

I feel for you being friends with the family but Repath is the “bad guy” in this incident

MM didn’t do anything though at this point. Repath then stopped, and threw another punch at MM before he engaged physically. He didn’t strike him because MM ducked

Dude, repath punched someone in the back of the head. He then threw another punch directly at MM. He then was pushed. Not even punched, pushed

That certainly appears to be the case. It is a perfectly normal response to push someone that is trying to hit you. Basic case of self defense. This should be thrown out.

Repath sucker punches someone in the back of the head to start everything

Repath then continues verbal words. Repath again the swings first before being pushed
That'll come up in the mitigation phase if it gets that far.

Yea. More info coming out, doesn’t look like he really did that much.. shoving him him after being swung at is a mild response IMO

No stake in this, but a good DA will argue after the initial act MM and his group became the aggressors by continuing to purse Repath (who was backing away and no longer a threat) as he was leaving the venue and backing away for at least 150 ft (very conservative estimate of half the parking lot). That's definitely enough for probable cause for an arrest, but agree prosecution will be tough. Either way horrible for all involved.

I’m not friends w family just know plenty that are. The punch inside the bar is not relevant for MM .

The fact that repath was backing up could be an issue for MM -

If the video show DR was trying to back up and no longer the aggressor - he was no longer a threat/ know prettt much equal numbers of folks that know both families relatives of mine coached both as well

Had he actually landed a punch on ML - different ball game

I really don’t see this going far in da office either way

Someone swings at me and I’d have a hard time not swinging back

I just hate the idea of the state basically saying

“Yeh, even though repath punched your group in the back of the head, it’s now your responsibility to complete avoid him. Oh, and even if he swings at you again, you can’t protect yourself because remember I said the onus is on you to make sure you aren’t close enough to him tk where he loses his cool again”

It seems ridiculous to me

Has it been rumored how the two groups started aruging in the first place? Considering somebody did die, just wondering how it all actually started?

ill speculate

Hammered dude bumps into another hammered dude

"watch it, chief"

"what did you fricking say to me little bitch?"

two redbones kissing the back seat

"chill chill chill" the dude trying to break it up Gets smoked in the back of the head by repath

bouncers break it up then spills into the lot

"get the frick out of you old arse ginger bitch"

swing and miss

then push

then blood spills out of the back of the head
