Whoa. Uncle Neil is a treasure who has influenced a TON of what we hear today. Supremely talented songwriter and guitarist.

Still doesn't change the fact that he's selling out in his old age. If you're going to make outlandish statements about something you don't agree with, either politically or socially, then you turn around just a few years later, it doesn't look good for him.

Don't disagree. I don't think he's anywhere close to being broke, so not sure what his motivation is here. I quit trying to figure out artists' motivations a long time ago...they're often very odd people

Meh. I mean, as the op said the guy is estimated to have lost $300k during the time of the boycott, so he “put his money where his mouth is”….that figure may be insignificant to him, but he was still willing to forgo it. He also realized that other platforms where his music was available where issuing similar content that he objected to, so he came to the conclusion that his protest wasn’t having the desired effect, only inconveniencing his fans who happened to use Spotify.

I guess some of the zealot boycotters like the anti-bud light folks feel like they are supposed to take it to their grave with them. That group also happens to include many of the same folks who can get past the idea that a musician may have political leanings they don’t like.

It's not really selling out though. That's kind of what he says it is in a since, but his original reason for leaving Spotify was based on 100% incorrect information. Everyone knows what the real misinformation was and has been at this point. Like many others he's accepting he was wrong without admitting it. No one wants to admit when they were duped.
