Not sure if the email is legit but the EV strategy for the company is true.
Jaguar’s EVs are unfortunately generic, not popular, and not competitive. Even before this, Jaguar has been getting trounced by nearly all their competitors. Switching to EV’s is not going to help them attract more customers, address quality issues, or retain their identity as the manufacturer of sporty, visceral cars that are fun to drive.
They’ve canceled production of their only sports car already. Cutting their dealer network and giving them only a couple of generic crossover EVs is going to accelerate their failure.
Yeah they are scaling back so much that they are basically going out of business.
When Lincoln and Infiniti can no longer sell full sized ICE SUVs….they are probably gone too.

When it comes to EV’s…..it’s Tesla, and then everybody else.
There are some that have spent a fortune and have a solid product (Hyundai, General Motors), but they aren’t really selling outside of rental fleets. Outside of Tesla, they are probably in the best shape to handle the inevitable EV mandates from woke governments…which is to say they are losing money hand over fist and are now slow walking EV product rollouts.
Then you have Ford, Nissan and VW that came out of the EV gate with disappointing products and are awkwardly trying to put out updates for their vehicles while quietly scaling back EV sales projections. They will be okay for the future EV mandates but it’s clearly not a priority for them. .
Toyota, Subaru, and Chrysler have only really dabbled in the EV marketplace so far. They will probably survive but struggle with EV’s as they become mandated.
Jaguar is a niche luxury brand whose EV products don’t look or feel like a Jaguar. Their entire ethos is in conflict with EV’s as a concept. They don’t have a future if they can’t figure out how to make electric Jaguars instead of generic electric boxes. I don’t know if it will work with Land Rover either but they at least have some popular ICE models to sell in the interim.

The F-Pace is a fine looking vehicle from the outside but completely lacks any kind of interior. For the price, hell no. Plus, something electronic WILL break a few months in.

All of the Waymo cars I saw in San Francisco recently were Jaguar I-PACE cars

They look pretty good as well. The F-Pace is slightly bigger I believe. I'm not too familiar I know someone that had an F-Pace and hated it. Looked damn fine on the exterior, but the electronics were shite.

would be surprising, and somewhat sad, to see the brand completely fold, but building and selling non-reliable, overvalued vehicles will do that to you, at some point....
it's just a shame, b/c just based on looks Jaguar and Range Rovers are geat looking vehicles....but both of them are plagued by always being in the shop for various reasons.... there are so, so many former owners that will tell you stay far, far away from either one of these lines of vehicles...

They make kits to swap a Range Rover engine for an LS, just like they used to make a kit to put a 350 into a Jag.

Why don't they make tv's in Britain?
Because they'd leak oil

The Brits make some cool looking vehicles, but across the board, the quality is shyte. And cost of repairs is through the roof.
