Trying to compare one to the other doesn’t make any sense. It’s not like someone chose McMahon over Wade. LSU admins thought they needed to fire Wade and did. I, like many others, wish they wouldn’t have but they did. Then they hired McMahon. Since he’s now the coach of our Tigers, I want him and the team to do well. Just bc you like Wade doesn’t mean you can’t pull for McMahon. As a matter of fact, it’s kind of weird to root for McMahon to fail, as if that changes anything about how good (or bad) a coach Wade was.

How anyone can take up for dumbass Wade is baffling. We don’t need anyone that stupid near the program.

This is a dumb a$$ post... I like McMahon a lot, I miss Wade a lot. It is possible to miss Wade but still support McMahon...

I was surprised to see that Marvel Allen and Efton Reid aren’t doing much. Makes me not feel as bad thinking about all of the top prospects we could have had

Yohan Traore and Julian Phillips weren’t very dynamic either

It is. But making thread about it is stupid as well. Wade is gone. Everyone needs to let it go.

I liked Wade. Wade’s not coming back.

LSU has a new basketball coach. He’s done a good job with what he has, and the team this season has improved.

Many people don’t know how to move on. And the resentment from a decision (getting rid of Wade) they had no control or influence over seems to eating up at them so much they can’t let it go.

But it’s time for everyone to move on. We have a new coach. Wade isn’t coming back. It’s time to support who we have. And if you want to bitch and complain about the current results, do it without the constant Wade comparisons and praises

No one is rooting for McMahon to fail. No one. We all want to see LSU succeed. Some people just have serious doubts about whether he can do it. The idea that anyone is rooting against McMahon is ridiculous.

It’s probably because of the way Wade was fired. It polarized a lot of people. Strong feelings on both sides pro vs con.

It’s not McMahon’s fault but after seeing what the punishment was for Will Wade it is painfully obvious firing him was a terrible mistake. Instead of admitting this fact, people make unhinged arguments like we were “in a decline” or “played street ball” or “Wade couldn’t win in the tournament” or “we had to fire him for football”. LSU bball fans got screwed. Hopefully McMahon can recruit more talent and take a big step forward next season. NIT in year 2 just because Year 1 was historically bad doesnt mean we’ve arrived anywhere.

And that is the flaw. The Admins wanted Wade gone and took advantage of the opportunity to get rid of a successful coach. It was not a secret around the Athletic Department that Woodward and Tate didn’t care for Wade.

ETA. Everybody involved in this process, including the LSU admin, was well aware that the IARP wasn’t going to hammer Wade or LSU regardless of whether he was fired or not. The vast majority of the allegations against Wade could not be proven by the NCAA. If all the dumbasses that keep referencing his wife’s checking account were to actually read the findings, they would see that NONE of those allegations were upheld by the IARP.

Most fans are pretty dumb, but basketball first fans are the dumbest of the dumb pretty much anywhere you go.

Don't expect your rational and perfectly reasonable message to go over with that group. They are more emotional than women are about anything.

Twenty years from now, Will Wade will be remembered only as a short-time coach who destroyed LSU basketball for the short time because he was dirty and stupid. Nothing more.

No one is rooting against LSU. You made that part up. It’s as stupid as saying you are a bigger fan of McMahon than LSU.

And it’s not about McMahon vs Wade. Is about people who still like Wade vs people who (now) don’t like Wade. The second group pretends to be fans of McMahon just to antagonize the other group.
