Is there anyone left who thinks BI is worth his next contract?

And if so, please state your case.

The only pro argument I can see is that we can't get anyone better because no one wants to come here.

What else is there that would justify BI getting a max?

Griff
Willie
Gayle
BI

And that’s really all that matters and why he will get it

I've gone from mostly out to fully out. There are just too many fit problems on both sides of the ball.

I’d replace BI with almost any decent player in the league let along paying him 40+ million a year. My dream scenario is replacing him with Mikal Bridges or Trae young but I’ll accept a box of corn flakes and that roster spot.

I know this isn't your argument but we don't need someone better than BI in return to make the team better.

If it's a true max, you move on and try to get Murray and okongwu.

Nance isn't the answer as your backup big.
Murray may not be, but he on paper can fit better than most guards.

You should have enough firepower replacing Ingram with Murray and defensively you should be better.

For sure, he's a top-10 playmaking wing. Not a top-ten point guard.

I have sympathy for BI

I think he is very smart and nobody has more dedication to the sport. He lives and sleeps the game - hardest working guy on the team.

Unfortunately, I think the severity of his medical condition DVT is a secret. It's why the Lakers were quick to get rid of him.

He has admitted to having a special diet but I'm guessing he takes medication, perhaps an anticoagulant which could impact his ability to recover from injuries and illness. It could explain his hot/cold energy levels.

Here’s the thing with BI and his next contract :

We don’t know what it will be . Everyone keeps saying he won’t be worth his next contract , and maybe he won’t but no one knows what that number is going to be . Maybe he will.

To me the situation with BI and Zion is less contract and more about the fact that both want to play in the same space . Zion from 15 ft in and Bi from 15-20ft. Zion hampers him just as he hampers Zion. Add Jonas to the mix and it’s like Baton Rouge at rush hour .

We've come a looooong way from when the hate posts would come out in droves in this discussion... all the way to now it's a given from what feels like 90% of the board agrees with.
