I went to the fricking movies the other night and 2 tickets and a bag of M&M ‘s was $63. Before that we went to dinner and two 3 taco meals, 1 pepsi, 1 water, chips and queso was $63.00. I can’t remember if that included tip or not but just a simple night out for the wife and I was $126 and we had tacos and a movie with no booze.

It's crazy. I make really good $ but I rarely want to leave the house, it just feels like money is being vacuumed from my pockets every time I go somewhere.

We do but they'd be closer to the same if we didn't have a teenaged driver and 3 vehicles. I think we pay $480/mo for auto so almost 6k per year. Our homeowners is like $2300/yr.

Oh, the part where the OP stated what coverages he has and his credit scores must’ve been left off on my end then.

I’m paying $6000 a year with Progressive, just me and my 19 year old. No wrecks, tickets claims, nothing. And my credit score last I checked was 848….

I called All Stste and Liberty Mutual and both said they couldn’t match that amount.

Way more. 6k a year for 3 drivers and 3 cars 1 22 year old, no wrecks or claims.

Home owners is $2,100 a year but another $800 for flood insurance.

If you ever add how much you pay in taxes and insurance it doesn’t leave much left.

You bought a teenager a $60,000 truck? You deserve what you are being charged.

My son turns 17 this summer. I am scared to even get a quote. We are paying about the same for auto with pretty generous coverage.

We have girls but ours went up roughly $200/mo when we added the youngest in a 12 yr old car that's probably worth 6-7k. Our coverage is 100/300 I think

Why don’t you guys with kids just pay cash for a car for them and don’t carry collision insurance on their cars?

Not sure how that would work with them driving you and the wife’s vehicles thought.

Don't forget they're taking into consideration the amount of damage she can do to the $60k SUV in front of her at the stoplight.

A Tesla pulled out in front of me (I was doing under 15mph), and it was $25k in damage to my two fiddy, and almost ten weeks of rental costs, paid for by Tesla driver's insurance. That's more than a third of what the truck cost to begin with. My recent renewal is at 3500 ish a year with no drivers other than me on the policy (no accidents, at fault or not, since 2001.)

81 million votes.

It's been that way. My auto insurance is $250/ month for just my car. My homeowners is about $3k a year. I'm probably undershooting it a bit, but my wife's insurance is about $150/month and I know out homeowners isn't $4800/year. No accidents or tickets as far back as I can remember.
