Just said by WAFB during the news.
They reference “nationaltoday . com” at the bottom of the screen.
Anyone hear studies about this?

Seems like details are lacking. How many sodas a day are we talking about?

That sounds like a very badly designed study.

There has to be more to this and WAFB is airing it during the 5:00 news like it should be well known.

Here’s the real solution
Don’t drink soda

Correlation =/= causation. It may be directly linked. But I'd bet it's just that fat people drink diet soda more. Therefore people drinking diet soda more have a better chance at having a heart attack due to their weight.

Prolly a terrible design of a study. Would have to see it but there have been dozens showing no adverse effects of diet soda and actually better outcomes when diet soda is used during a diet to cure a craving for something sweet.

Anything that increases insulin response is bad for your heart and, of course, health in general.
Aspartame does this.

I’m going to get a blood sugar monitor (not diabetic) just to see the difference in spikes from various foods/drinks.

I was diabetic but lost a lot of weight and changed my diet; now, I'm not even pre-diabetic. I have my old monitor somewhere. if I can find it, I'll do the same. Should be interesting.

That sounds like when it was thought that red meat was bad for you because there was a correlation of red meat eaters and the rate of heart disease. Was it the red meat? Or was it the fact that many people who consumed red meat also smoked, drank excessively and lived a sedentary or unhealthy lifestyle?

That’s on people with type 2 diabetes. Not necessarily transferrable to the general public. And the intro itself mentions that sedentary lifestyles play a role, too. Be weary of studies. Not all of them or what they seem.

That’s my biggest point.
WAFB, the go-to news source for many, is broadcasting this as broad fact when it’s not just the case.

At the end of the day, they’re going to broadcast what their national network boss tells them to.
