He is out of touch with what the GOP base want. He is anti trump, he makes bad deals with dems, and he is currently being challenged by many gop senators, who are openly calling for his ouster (Cruz, lee, etc.)
He is done IMO. I just hope his Lieutenant John Thune doesn’t take over.

It’s just incredible how out of touch he has become on where the base is. He is so worried about Ukraine but is oblivious to the border situation and is just oblivious as to where the base is in the issue vs Ukraine. The national security threat is the border not in Ukraine

I mean he's basically three quarters dead and he's got nearly 3 years left on his term.

Go to the Kentucky forum and try to drum up discontent there. He's their man.

He and Biden could both star in Six Feet Under.

McConnell has never wanted a Republican Majority in the Senate, he's rabidly anti-Trump, and far too deep in the pocket of wealthy Country Club Republicans. John Thune will be no different than McConnell if he's voted in as Leader

I think there is a good opportunity to land a body blow to Mitch with this bipartisan border deal.

He has come out in strong support of the bill. If a significant number of Republican senators vote against it, that is a clear sign of his waning influence and power.

He needs to resign to let Massie and Rand take the reins.

He most likely will but it will be with very tepid support and there will probably be significant challenges to his leadership, somewhat akin but more cordial than McCarthy’s Speakership.

Then we need to keep electing better Republicans and get rid of Thune. Republicans should start with every senator that votes for the border bill. Replace them with better Republicans.

I'd say since he has basically had mini-strokes on camera a handful of times he is done.

I don't see what drives these people to work until their last breath but it isn't normal.
