I agree more with rivals (I think, I haven't looked it up) that has him a four-star. Got to watch him a few times over the past two years.

Don’t think losing Amos hurts, Ole Miss plans on putting him at the EDGE position. Not the best athlete around, we can do better. Ford isn’t a huge loss given what we have coming in at RB. And honestly, unless he shows improved fluidity and lateral movement, I don’t know how effective he’d be even if he made the switch to LB. Seems a bit stiff to keep up with SEC athletes. Probably will be a solid power back but not a big loss tbh.

We don’t need a RB. Amos went for the $$
ETA: it appears that LSU puts its money into building a roster from HS and topping it off with Portal. Ole Miss can’t do that. They cannot beat LSU, Bama, UGA and even TAMU in Hs recruiting.

quote:First, we mostly need Ford for LB, so if somebody is offering him for RB, it makes sense. Secondly, i wonder if Deboer will adapt his system to the SEC? Deboer ran less than 28 times a game in 2023. With the RBs they got in the last couple of classes, he might not get a legit chance to run til his junior season. IMO, going to somewhere like Mizzu or Arkansas would be better. Hell even Ole Miss, but I'd personally dislike it.
LSU wasn’t going to get everyone but very interested to see Ford get an offer to play in DeBoer’s system. “ “This visit tops all my other visits,” Ford said.
quote:This kid wasn't offered yet and that is telling considering the multiple LB coaches we have, including the DC and Frank Wilson with the map of Louisiana players locked and loaded. I will say, if the other Amos is his family member, they may both dislike LSU for some reason.
Disappointed Amos jumped on Ole Miss today like he did as well.

Pretty sure Amos’ dad played for Ole Miss. He should be a pretty good OLB for them.

Second, LB Amos hurts in that he's a top 10 in the state and 4*.
Those rankings will change, and he didn't have an offer, just saying.

Yeah someone mentioned it last night on X.

Can’t blame Ford, we taking Berry and Simon has the weigh his decision at some point, I’ve read that we want him as a LB and maybe he wants to play RB, I think if we push for either one after their senior seasons, we can land either one!! It’s nice to be able to turn kids away, sucks but it’s true!! Lsu recruitment is at a high peak and we not stopping

I really hate missing on Opelousas kids. The ground there is very fertile. We missed Cedee lamb, and Keon Coleman out of Opelousas. Now there’s two blue chippers on the same team and we might miss both smh. Certain regions in Louisiana just needs to have scholarships set aside. Opelousas and the river parishes

Lamb was born in Opelousas but grew up in Texas. Hasn’t lived in Louisiana since Katrina.

Ford needs to get his mental game together. Physical tools are absurd. Between the ears, not so much. This upcoming year will be telling.

This might be one of the dumbest things I’ve read. Opelousas needs to have scholarships set aside?

Disagree! You are not going to land everyone also when Keon Coleman came out state was loaded with WRs. Also this year rb is loaded in state those are 2 positions the state always has talent. Yes, We all want to land Ford but having Berry and possible landing Simon anytime might have him look around. It's also other rbs in class that probably do really well like Parker and Sheppard in college. People will run back here in 2 yrs saying why we didn't offer or take them.

Still should have brought him back, there’s clearly something in the water in Opelousas. Wasn’t davery Henderson from Opelousas as well

I get the point and agree philosophically but he also relied primarily on 1 back and that back when healthy was pretty productive. 28 rush attempts a game in this age is likely pretty close to median even though it seems low. Lot of teams throwing the ball around these days. Our run game was inflated due to Daniels. Without his threat I doubt we would have averaged over 28 a game. Our RB rotation and effectiveness was below par for the most part. Hope to see that improve. Particularly Frank and his rotations. He never gives anyone a chance to get in a groove. Hopefully this season was a talent/health anamoly and not what we are gonna see going forward.

Brought him back to sit on bench behind Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall? He was on Oklahoma team we destroyed.
Yes, He was good but wouldn't have got near the looks here as at OU.

Bro my point is the region is producing. Now the region is not deep but when it does produce you have a really good athlete. But LSU is getting none. I believe Mike from tiger bait said it best “ if you want Opelousas high to be good in football just recruit the hallways of the school”

Always take Opelousas kids because they’ve had a few good D1 players. Seems dumb
Posted on 2/4/24 at 10:00 am to lilkrab2024
Just like the river parishes, just take them if it doesn’t pan out then it doesn’t pan out but you take them. The NFL said Boutte La produces the most nfl players per capital in the whole nation. Boutte is in the river parishes why not set aside a scholarship or two for the region. It’s not like Opelousas or Boutte is producing a lot, just 1 or two every four years.

Without Grubb, it will be interesting to see how that system works with a QB that isn't very accurate.
