My point is you not going land everyone. It's really simple go look at the WR class in state with Keon Coleman and RB class this year with Ford. The state is always loaded with Rbs and WRs you not going to get everyone. Just because you in a certain parish do you get put to the side scholarships that's not how this work. If that's the case put all scholarships to side for New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas.

Don't get me wrong I want Ford but if Simon commits he might look around. They offered him so at this point it's on him. Also Philip Wright I want him but if he drags it out and we start getting more WR commits it's not on staff it might become a numbers game.

New Orleans and Baton Rouge are really big cities Boutte is very small and doesn’t produce alot but when it does watch out. Last one to come out of Boutte was Pooka Williams which LSU should have gotten. I would have loved to see him in the 2019 offense. But setting aside Maybe one scholarship every 5 years for the small region could be done. We give scholarships to athletes younger brothers to get the older brother why can’t we set aside a scholarship for Opelousas and Boutte

I'm not for setting aside scholarships for anyone just get the best in state if possible. You will miss on some and hit on some players. It will play itself out here soon enough. I wish we can land everyone but it's not realistic Georgia doesn't even land all it's Top 10 players in state.

The state of Georgia is very deep just like Texas they can miss, but it is not so for Louisiana we are not deep at all and we need them all.

LSU has no problem recruiting the river parishes (or any area for that matter) without intentionally setting aside scholarships lol

If I were you I’d walk away from this thread. It’s ridiculous to set aside one scholarship every 4-5 years for a certain region. You get the best players you can every year regardless of what city they are from.

We took Deion Smith (Mississippi) 5 star over Keon Coleman (Opelousas) 3 star. Look how that turned out. I’m rolling with Opelousas if the two athletes are at the same position

I think Ford can be a pretty good linebacker.

Still should have brought him back, there’s clearly something in the water in Opelousas. Wasn’t davery Henderson from Opelousas as well

There isn’t much in the water if there’s nearly 20 years of separation between those players.

I'm sure you and many more wasn't complaining about getting a 5 star WR over a 3 star WR at time. People always come back saying we should have gone after a 3 star after they did good somewhere else. As soon as we get a 3 star commit be the same people complaining. Lol

We recruit Texas pretty hard also let's not forget that also. You will get some and you will miss some every school.

Their coach now played with Devery. The talent has always been there. It just took someone knowing how to recruit the hallways there. Jimmy knows how much talent is at the school and will do what it takes to get them on the field.

I’ve always believed that 3 stars in CERTAIN regions of Louisiana are better than 5 stars around the nation. I can’t remember which year but Alfred Blue was our lowest rated back and we had a good stable but he was the best back I can’t remember what year though. Justin Jefferson 2 star out of the river parishes. So I’m not in the number that was happy with Deion smith over Keon Coleman.

So basically you would decline Mississippi 5 star WR Caleb Cunningham for Louisiana 3 star WR Philip Wright if you could only take one?

On Jordan Jefferson he was a 3 star and go check that class. LSU had no 4 or 5 star wr commits all the wrs of 2017 class are 3 stars. Even the out of state Texas WR was a 3 star in that class.

Every class is different from needs, talent in state, and who wants to commit to LSU.

Being honest I don’t believe we should take out of state Wrs anyway 5 five star or not. Just take the top 4 in Louisiana every year for real

I am so glad you have nothing to do with recruiting. You have no idea how it works.
