Oblivion was an awful mishmash ripoff of a few scifi movies. It sucked hard.

You've lost your goddamn mind.

It's a good movie for what it is. I rewatch it all the time.

Go sit down.

My vote is also The Mummy.

And I'm not a fan of him as Lestat in Interview with the Vampire. He did well, but he was not right for the part. Viggo Mortensen would have been better.

"Never stop fricking me!" and a handful of other memorable lines in Jerry Maguire make it redeemable.

Seriously the only line I remember from this movie. 11 year old me watched this scene quite a few times on VHS.

Wrong. Jerry McQuire is one of those movies that captures that mid-90s so well. Its a one of a kind Tom Cruise performance. Distinctively different role and performance than any of his other movies.

To answer OP....maybe Interview With the Vampire?

I think interview was a great movie, and I think Tom did a great job for what he could. The problem was, I read the books and Ton Cruise is no where close to the book Lestat. So I don't think it's his fault for that. More casting decisions.

Wasn't Far and Away a decent box office hit? That movie sucked.

Cocktail was pretty bad.

LSU at Georgia was in that movie...I think they showed Tony Moss with a reception or TD...plus that movie gave us Kokomo!

actually not a bad film but I want to slap the shite out of dakota fanning every time she's in a scene

My eardrums agree. But I also think the Tim Robbins basement scene took all the momentum out of the movie.

Sorry you feel so strongly about a derivative waste of an hour and a half, bro.

Jerry Maguire is awesome and I will fight anybody who says otherwise. And I'll go one step further and say Tom Cruise got fricked by not winning the Oscar that year for JM.

Also, people are saying Cocktail sucked? What the frick is wrong with some of you.

As for the OP:

I'll say Eyes Wide Shut. Obviously there are some...ahem...redeeming qualities about that one, but that movie fricking sucked bad.

As far as his most underrated, I'll go with Edge of Tomorrow.

Yes.

The only likable character was that kid.

All other main characters were utterly unlikable. The director seemed to want me to pull for all or some of them with cute tricks like catchy, well framed lines of dialogue. But I wanted them all to die.

It was a terrible movie because I did not buy into the love story (somebody with the money and good looks like Tom Cruise would not settle for a boring, unredeemably unattractive chick, much less give her cute but bastard kid the time of day) or any character’s loyalty to another. It was under-executed, sloppy, and rushed. They did not give me the happy ending that would have made it a great, satisfying movie.

If they make a sequel where we can watch them all burn in hell (except for the kid), I would take my wife to see that movie on Valentines Day.

One of my favorite movies of all time, but for most underrated I'll also throw in Knight and Day. That movie is just stupid fun and Cruise is amazing in it.
