I bought a couch from Ashley and the frame collapsed when a 160-lb person sat down a little hard. After the flood i researched and got a brand made in Texas. It’s indestructible.

New Orleans has several second hand furniture stores where you can find great pieces if you are selective and know what you are looking for…

they could have kept it short.

everything is made of particle board and MDF board

so if it gets wet it softens and falls apart

Bought a $2,500 couch Labor Day 2020 and it’s a piece of shite now. We’ve called several times to complain and have replacements of cushions etc. we tried a warranty claim because the stitching on several cushions is coming apart significantly and they said the warranty doesn’t cover stitching frick this cheap Chinese made fricked up world

Our current couch was $2500 or so as well. It's probably 6 years old and I doubt it will make it much past 10 years.

Planned Obsolescence.

They purposely make the shite to break sooner than later and it’s not just furniture.

I need 2 new couches, afraid to pull the trigger on anything....
Pricing is ridiculous & if you read reviews, theyre all garbage....
I dont want to spend flexsteel money & at the same time really nowhere to even sit on a flexsteel couch here in san diego....
Most retailers in my area off their website can order flexsteel but minimal on display if any....
Frustrating....

I believe it. Early in our marriage, we tended to get our stuff at Ikea because we didn't want to spend a lot of money on things while we had small kids. We knew exactly what we were getting and had no expectations of heirloom quality pieces that would last for decades. My mother in law would make condescending comments about us buying cheap stuff. Meanwhile our "cheap" sofa outlasted the three very expensive "quality" sofas she bought in the same time frame.

Climate change: a made up problem to cause all the sheep to follow their made up solutions, straight to the slaughter.
Oh and vote them in continually bc all the sheep are too dumb to think for themselves
And if Biden really won a fair election, we have ALOT of dumb sheep around

Furniture quality absolute sucks. Couldn’t agree more.
And the prices for this shite furniture is ridiculous.

If it was inexpensive and trash I could understand, but it’s fricking expensive. For absolute crap.

Not so much anymore. United Furniture and Mitchell Gold closed all their plants in the last 12-18 months.

Didn't one of them lay everybody off on Thanksgiving? ??

The price of furniture, even mass produced crap, is one of those markets that I just don't understand.
Yeah, we shopped for a sofa and a chair recently and my head about exploded at the prices.

A sofa we liked was on sale from like $1,500 marked down to $800, but the matching ottoman was $500. I was like “WTF? $500 for a fricking ottoman?” It’s fricking outrageous.

La-Z-Boy recliners have gone to shite in quality as well. Their recliners used to last forever. Now not so much.
Yep. Had two La-Z-Boy “leather” recliners in our RV. Within 4 years, the bonded leather on them literally flaked off and turned to dust. fricking trash.

This is why I buy my Furniture at Costco and Sam’s.

I know exactly what I am getting. And where to get its replacement in a few years.

Find a Nadeau store and buy from there. One of the last places selling handmade pieces made from real wood at a good price.

Kinda. We have some furniture from there and I like it. It's wood and pretty good quality, mostly built in India

This thread is discouraging.

I'm in the market for furniture and don't want to get burned.
