24/7

quote:

–Dominick McKinley (Texas A&M commit) had his moments in 1-on-1s. He’s got a very projectable frame, but isn’t viewed as the most physical front-seven defender, although we saw him turn it on for a little bit Sunday, which is extremely encouraging.

Rivals
quote:

Five-star Oklahoma signee David Stone is having a phenomenal week at Under Armour and has all but secured the top spot in the defensive tackle rankings. But Miami signee Justin Scott is going to have to really impress at the All-American Bowl to keep No. 2.

That’s because Dominick McKinley has been dominant during one-on-one drills and he could not only push for a move up in the position rankings but to five-star status as well. With his size, aggressiveness and violent hands, McKinley has done what he’s wanted this week and a big Under Armour game could solidify things even more.

LSU is now up to #4

He disappeared at times in high school but he was double teamed often. He wasn't as dominant as a 5 star should be he flashed his potential enough to see he has a really nice upside. Probably needs a year in the system to be a major contributor but fills a huge need and has the room to develop into a stud. Also, felt like lsu really needed Dom and Reliford to feel like recruiting was a success due to the need on DL and they are La kids. Huge win closing with these 2

Always wondered if he was nicked up in some of those non-dominant games

Quite possible. If you have played DT in highschool some coaches are good at game planning vs good DT play.

The 24/7 write up is probably from an Alabama fan employee.

One thing you can't coach is motor.

Hopefully the right dl coach gets the most out of him.

The way he moves for 6'5 290 is what excites everyone.

Strictly from what I've read on here from people who have seen him in person, sounds like the kid just doesn't know how good he is. I've seen kids just assume they can't beat a double team because it's two ppl and just default to trying to hold their ground instead of actively trying to make the play. You can fix that with coaching.

Dont you kinda contradict yourself here Chalky?

I think the right DL coach can certainly get the most out of him, like you said

Lets hope Texas loses tonight and CBK makes it "bo-fficial" as early as tomorrow
