Agree but the NCAA has no control over NIL.
That said, the NCAA could fix a lot this immediately by changing the transfer rules back to something closer to what they were before the portal.
Having to sit a year after transferring (pre graduation) would end a lot of this quickly.

100% agree. There is NO Committment at all required by college players. The NFL has binding contracts. College has nothing now.

Yes, the NCAA could help things by restoring the former rules requiring players to sit out a year when transfering, but they would be pummeled with lawsuits within a few hours. You can't grant a right and then take it back.
The transfer portal was never the problem, the immediate eligibility was what caused the dam to break. The portal would be far, far smaller if players had to sit out a year. The NCAA completely botched it, and there's no going back.
