Currently looking to upgrade from my older K-cup machine. In general, I find Keurig coffee to be weak. However, I’m wondering if the newer machines with Multistream actually improve the taste?

I do enjoy nespresso, but the pods are expensive and not sold in most brick and mortar stores (Vertuo line).

What ultimately became the decision maker for you? Taste, price, or convenience? I’m open to other suggestions. My only requirement is that the machine have a nice size water reservoir. I have considered going with a full blown espresso machine, but it’s useless if I want to fill a travel mug.

TIA.

Nespresso. Keurig is gross. Order the pods online.

That's what the americano is for.

We have Nespresso, after having enjoyed it at a friend's house. Better flavor compared to Keurig, in our opinion. Pod availability in retail stores is greatly lacking compared to Keurig. No Nespresso pods in Costco, but Costco has 10 different brands of Keurig pods. Nearby Albertson's carries Nespresso pods, but only in limited quantity, and when they are out, they will be out for a while. To remedy this, we order in bulk from Amazon without difficulty.

Do a Nespresso vertuo. It's a cross between the two, while having better coffee than Keurig

I don’t understand the “weak” description. I’m not as heavy into coffee as I was before but I remember options on the maker for a strong brew and options to buy stronger k-cups.

I have both, the Nespresso makes better coffee by a mile, but you can pickup the K Pods at the grocery store. I use the Keurig at work and keep the Nespresso at home.

Don’t do this if you’re accustomed to Keurig. Unless you get a super-automatic.

I always recommend getting a decent burr grinder and a drip machine that can brew multiple sizes. I don’t find it’s that inconvenient to grind fresh and brew and the quality is far better than Keurig…plus no heated plastic.

I buy ground Lavazza and use the pods adapters, filled full, then hit the strong button on my Keurig. Usually makes a good cup.

The ones on the left are the best type of pods but it's so hard to find machines for them that are not super expensive and last. I've been through 3 Bunn machines and am tired of the cost of replacement.

Nespresso is awesome. Especially with a higher end machine. Ebay has a vast selection with a lot of comparable cheaper pods.

Nespresso is better. Pods re expensive. Over $1 per. Free recycling.
Keurig you can use your own coffee for about 8 cents a cup.

If you are just wanting a decent cup of coffee, get a French press and whatever kind of coffee you like. Run your tap water through a filter if needed.

We have a Nepresso machine and it makes a good cup, but it is expensive and the "cups" are tiny compared to my insulated mug. We almost always use the French press.

I've used Keurig machines before and tried several different pods. I just don't like the weak coffee that they produce.

Visiting the in-laws who have a Keurig, I leaned that you can get a decent cup of coffee only if you dispense the smallest-size cup serving.

So it seems like you can get a Keurig and use two pods to fill your mug, or a Nespresso and use one doubly-expensive pod, and get similar results at about the same cost.

There's no magic to this. It's all just hot water passing through ground coffee beans.

If you love the taste of coffee and not just the drug of caffeine? Nespresso.

Bit I’ll be the arse to say get a French press.

I have both.

I use the Keurig during the week for regular coffee.

I use the nespresso on weekends as sort of a treat
