Generation War (German 3 part mini series 2013). It follows five young friends beginning in 1941. From their excitement of the future to the reality that war provides. High quality production with some excellent war scenes.

Generation War is an excellent mini-series.
There is a Das Boot series that’s pretty good as well.

The original All Quiet on the Western Front and the new remake are both great.

13 Hours is such a badass movie. Those guys are warriors that should be remembered in history, and that entire fight will likely be forgotten in ten years.

Blackhawk Down is another movie that is incredibly good.

Band Of Brothers is probably my all time favorite

Older? The Bridge on the River Kwai.

But there are plenty of good war movies.

Vietnam has some great ones with FMJ, apocalypse now, born on the 4th, the deer Hunter, platoon…

The original All Quiet on the Western Front, the black and white.
The scene in the crater where he is stuck and talking to the dead French soldier is amazing.

Also forgot Bridge on the River Kwai.

5 pages in...and haven't seen anyone post "The Razor's Edge" yet. Such an underrated story (both the 1946 and the 1984 versions, which are different).

Catch-22 is pretty wild. Incredible shots of cockpit interiors. Alan Arkin is remarkable.

Letters from Iwa Jima.

Getting to experience the pacific war from the Japanese perspective was surreal
