It was 14 years ago today we stomped the Patriots on MNF. Man, the Dome was rockin’ back then. Those were the days.

One of my all time favorite Saints games.

That was such an amazing game to be in the dome for

3rd best game to ever be in the Superdome for
1) Steve Gleason's block/return from Katrina
2) Pigs have flown, Saints win NFC Championship
You can make those 2 1A & 1B but destroying Brady on MNF is a solid #3 as that win cemented our status as legit Super Bowl contender

what most people didnt know at the time was the patriots cheating was well known so payton left fake game plans with fake call signs for them to steal
thats why they were so unable to do anything since they thought they knew the plays we were running but brees and payton had set them up perfectly.
you can see how exasperated brady and bill were that they knew our play calls, but we werent running those plays they thought we were

That was an awesome game without a doubt. It really validates how far the Saints have fallen.

Group of us stayed down there for the weekend for this game. We met some Pats fans at a bar on Bourbon that Sunday night before the game Monday. Made a bet that the loser would buy a round after the game. Went back downtown after the game and happened to run across them again. Sure enough they stuck to their word.

God bless him...
Looked like he could hardly move laterally, but he could knock to the fire out of 'em when they crossed the middle...

Was definitely an oh shite we are going to win the Super Bowl moment for me.
At that moment in time our offense just felt so inevitable in its dominance.
Felt the same way in 2011 too. And we would have boat races the pats again in the 2011 Super Bowl if we hadn’t left 5 turnovers in San Francisco.

Drew Brees had a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in this game.

Sucks we have to live in the past for satisfaction.

I was at all 3 of those, mate
The only game I’ve made since COVID was the Tottenham loss to the Vikings.
In my lifetime I’ve seen enough mediocre Saints efforts that the next four (or, god forbid five) games of this season are already no-gos for me.
My Saints fandom is waning with this return to Mecomocrity.

We made Brady and Belichek’s bitch asses quit! I’ve always hated the patriots and them two, one of the sweetest saints victories I’ve ever seen
