First tie breaker is H2H. Bottom line. A two-score road win trumps any other variable. It's not like UT beat UA at home with a fluky play.

The resumes aren’t equal. Bama’s is clearly stronger. There is no “tie.”

Yeah

Texas and Alabama should be in the top 4 if Texas, Alabama, and Oregon win.

It should be, but there's precedent that it's not.

2000, Miami and Fla State. Both finished with 1 loss, Miami beat Fla State head-to-head.
Florida State plays Oklahoma for National Title, because it had "the better loss". Miami plays in Sugar Bowl instead.

This year, it's setting up Bama and Texas for a repeat of that. If they both win their conference championships, Bama likely gets the nod, again having "a better loss" than Texas does.
*which is simply a way of saying "we like them more than you, so we're going to hold your record against you".

In Bama's favor, they would be beating UGA, the undefeated 2 time national champ, while Texas would be beating a 2 loss Oklahoma team.
In Texas' favor, they've looked strong recently, while Alabama needed a miracle to beat Auburn.

A game that happened 10 weeks ago should carry little weight.

Bama would steam roll Texas if they played this week.

No it isn't, they even said that before they ever started the playoff rankings back in 2014, you do not listen well do you?

It's weird that Texas was ranked ahead of Oklahoma when they had the same record after Oklahoma beat them if that's the case

Ask 1993 Notre Dame about this.
