What makes this Matt House situation even more damning

Daronte Jones went into Tuscaloosa in 2021 down like 8 starters and shut shite DOWN
Matt House is a fricking bum and the product he is putting on the field week after week is utterly pathetic and embarrassing

He clearly is behind the times on whatever he needs to do to keep up with offensive strategy in today's game.

What I truly don’t understand is the seemingly lack of adjustments.
I don’t expect this team to shut teams out. I don’t even expect 10+pt wins with this defense. What I do expect is when a quarterback runs for 3 TDs in one half to consider allocating a player to spy that QB. I expect the players on defense to, in week what… 10?.. to not take the worst angles possible (looking at you, Greg Penn). The little things that coaching should be addressing are totally non-existent at times, which wasn’t necessarily the case last year. At least not to this level.

House despises putting pressure on the QB.

He is out of excuses. Fire him.

Maybe the problem is that you guys have unrealistic expectations for a DC who is only paid $2 mil/ yr.
Give him a raise and a few years on his contract and see what he can do.
Like what Scott did with BK...

I’d like to add alabama’s offense that year was light years better than what they have now. House is a joke.

Jones did not deserve the job and was the only guy willing it take it. That being said, he actually developed throughout the year and improved.
Not sure where he is, but he deserves another DC spot at a smaller school. He was the better of the two Coordinators as the other one sucked and never developed.

I thought he was going to become our next great DC.
He inherited a roster from Bo Pelini, 3rd scheme change in as many years — and he had them legitimately flying around on that side of the ball… unit straight up overachieved in the second half of the year.
Not only that but IIRC the kids really loved playing for him & was not having a hard time of recruiting.
That remains the best defense we have had since Aranda… The fact we played Bama closer in 2021 than we did this year is just depressing lol.

He’s back with the Vikings as their DB coach

And you know Perkins has to be disappointed in House

Daronte season started off Shakey but they made adjustments to an empty backfield and it made a world of difference

What does that tell you… old employer welcomed him back. Wish we still had him around.
