When did skeletons become a public Halloween version of elf on the shelf?

Is it new this year? Don’t remember seeing it last year… mostly just those 12’ tall ones perched around. Now there are also regular size skeletons, performing various acts in yards all over town for public display.

Do you have to move them every night?

If not, then they are not close to the hell on earth of Elf on the Shelf.

This is all over my neighborhood….there must be 100 skeletons doing everything from checking the mail to nailing on shingles.

Got a skeleton down my street behind a legit full size wooden bar with 2 skeletons on stools with a Crown bottle on the bar with a gigantor skeleton on the side. It’s a head turner every time I drive by it. Pretty creative.

Yeah people have gone overboard with the skeletons imo. Some are creative I will say. But the 12ft ones are a bit much.

But to each their own I guess.

Evil is creeping nearer and nearer to the light
Forged in darkness but gaining might
Forced to hide less the angels see
But their power grows subtly

Burst from the shadows
We act surprised
But it’s our own callous minds
That released Hell’s prize

We’ll laugh and joke
We’ll distract and deny
We’ll wait too long
Til we inevitably die

Crushed by the weight
Of our own greed and pride
Blaming the mud and the stones
As we take the last ride
