We’ve never done anything like that but might be fun. What time of year is it?

Think I will book a private track experience for my husbands birthday.

That was the only two years for it over there. There is a big get together in Austin usually in May. Most shows down here will be scheduled in the spring or fall when the weather is good. I went a couple years ago and it was pretty nice.

Damn. I hate the drive to Austin. Avoid it at all costs. Let me know when express lanes open up the entire way from DFW to Austin

I just got done test driving one this past weekend and the car isn’t for me. I love the looks but the drive and the sheer noise is a bit much. I couldn’t hear myself think. Also the car is soooo uncomfortable. The seats are awful too. The car is the size of a medium boat but the seats are so deep that I felt I couldn’t get out of the car. I test drove a cayman S and think that’s prob what I’ll go with.

As a former highly modified R35 owner, I know this all too well. The guys at the big shops can pull those engines in 2 hours with 2 guys.

Rented the one below on Turo a couple weeks back, we were going to drive it to the Woodlands for a concert then a weekend in Galveston. Concert was postponed so we just went for a road trip up in the Hill Counrty, it was fun to drive, I'd opt for something bigger for a daily driver though, I am a pretty good sized baw so there's that as well.

Yeah I was surprised at how uncomfortable it was given its size. Also the trunk is smaller than the ones in a cayman and doesn’t fit a full size suitcase which is mind boggling. Def cool to look at but I can’t imagine owning it. It was really cool seeing the glass engine cover but it’s just too loud (both sound and style). Def not for someone under age of 40

Interesting, if anything I would have argued the standard C8 is too quiet in the cabin.

As for the seats comfort depends on which seat (GT1/GT2/Comp) the car has because different body types fit in different seats better. The bolsters on the comp seat does make it a bit of an up and over. I do agree the Cayman has better ingress/egress but depending on the seat they can be an even tighter fit (huggier if that is a word). My favorite seat the the Adaptive Sport Seat Plus but it has really high bolsters.

BTW if you are thinking about a 718 seriously consider the GTS 4.0. That engine is what makes the Cayman what it really should be.

I would love the GTS but that’s out of my price range. Not only is it ~100k before options but dealers mark up the GTS where as the cayman S I speced is ~95k without markups. Anything with a 911 engine is marked up.

Also for how “nice” the LT3 interior was, it all goes to moot because so uncomfortable. I can’t imagine it as a daily

I just bought 2 with my Discover card cash rewards rebate. Highly recommend them. Fast but not the most refined sports car available.

Understandable.

The LT3 comes std with the GT2 seat and the comp seat is optional. The GT1 seat is the most comfortable but is the least attractive and you can only get it in an LT1 or LT2 interior. I personally find the seats fine, not perfect but very good. My only real complaint is the center console makes me feel like the passenger is in another zipcode and having ridden as a passenger I felt really disconnected from the driver.

Overall it is a great car but cars are very personal which is why there are Fords and Chevrolets and Lamborghinis and Ferraris. Also, the reason why the Powell Motors The Homer exists.

Had this one for a few days. Absolutely recommend, but not as a primary vehicle. So fun to drive. Hard to get around with the front end so low and not the easiest to get in and out of with top up.

My GT2 seats are comfortable on the street and the track. I’m fine with my C8 as a daily driver, though getting out my old arse kind of falls out of the car. Getting in is much easier.

After 2 track days I’m almost up to speed (just .78 sec slower) compared to my Mach 1 I had before. The Mach 1 just felt better on the track than the Z51 Vette, surprisingly.

Love the Vette overall, but the Cayman S is a fine car as well.

You’re so full of shite as usual. The car in touring mode isn’t loud at all, it’s pretty damn quiet. Also, it’s a fricking mid engined sports car and you’re worried about sound? Why do you lie about the dumbest shite.

This is my exact point. I don’t know how they made the seats so deep but I felt I had to grab something and pull for dear life to get out. I’m not a sports car enthusiast and most likely want a GT car. I fell in love with the style but not the usability m
