I mean it was a joke my man. But okay, they werent a household item until like 2010.

The first actual oven like this, that moves hot air as you say, was sold to the Army.

quote:

The air fryer as we know it today is a combination of the work of two men: William Maxson and Fred van der Weij. Even though the technology to fry food without oil has been around for almost a hundred years, it took two individuals who were tired of the hassle to create what is now known as an air fryer.

So either way you want to slice it, no household had an air fryer in the 1990s.

Really I would swear that they were later. Didn’t really watch much TV or movies back then, I graduated HS in very early 80s. To me.

I don’t know what year animal house came out but it was pretty much spot on for my college life except music was mostly different

65-73 was the 60s
74-83 was 70s
84-92 was the 80s
93-03 was the 90s

The amount of responsibility kids had for themselves back then was awesome. If you busted your arse or fell out of a tree, it was up to you to decide if you wanted to shake it off and keep playing or go home.
I don’t think young kids these days even have the opportunity to be able to fend for themselves like that.
Same goes with getting bullied, you figured out on your own how you wanted to handle it. Fight back, try to outsmart the dipshit, or go running home. You got to choose who you were going to be. I definitely do not remember a lot of adult intervention

There were 4 other kids my age down the street. So it was pretty fun. Played outside a lot. Rode bikes everywhere. Went swimming often. Rode ATV’s around. Also had Sega/Nintendo - then Play station eventually.

We had internet, but it was slow AF until about 2000 or so and had limited utility.

nah, the 90's was shorter than that.
was more like '91 (beginning of Grunge era taking off) -'96 (Tupac death)

but in between those years, we sure crammed in a lot of shite!

we had the Dream Team in basketball.
president getting BJ's in the Oval Office
OJ simpson media circus
The Olympics were in Atlanta
The US hosted a World Cup
Al Gore invented the internet
rise (and fall) of Grunge
rap went Mainstream

Unless a bone was sticking out, and sometimes it was, you got a band aid or keep playing. Scars were badges of honor. My list:

Broken Leg (jumping )
6 stitches to head (dirt clubber war)
Massive concussion hospitalization almost died 18 stitches (street skates)
5 stitches to head eyebrow ( roughhousing)
Scar on nose ( knife slipped)
4 stitches to left hand (fight)
3 stitches to right hand (fight)
4 stitches behind ear (fight beer bottle to head)
Scar on left eyelid (fishing accident)
Burn on shin (motor cross)

And I wasn’t even one if the accident pron guys

I've grown up with my dad telling me all about the 80's and 90's, and as I wasn't there I just have to take his word. Without any nostalgia, was it really that great?

The 70's were revolutionary and pretty wild. The 80's were good but the economy sucked for first half but we still had a lot of fun. The 90's saw me get married and have kids... I dont know what the 90's were.

The 80's were the absolute best. Get off the bus and grab your bike and just hang out until the street light came on. Your arse hurried home as soon as that light popped on. The Lakers vs Celtics were huge just about every year. A teenage boy probably didn't spend more than five minutes in his room, unless he was asleep at night. We did have to worry about those pesky Russians, but that's about the only care we had.

I only had a pager around JR/SR year of high school and in college.
Remember pager codes? It was amazing the things that teens managed to spell with upside down numbers.

The 90s was literally the most violent time in US history.
To be fair most of us weren't kids in the violent areas. People still left their cars and houses unlocked in my area and none of my friends were doing drive-bys.

I was at LSU in some capacity from 1991 though 1997. It was a pretty terrific time. Spent a lot of time at the beach and some in Rockies.

1998 through 1999 were in New Orleans, Aspen and Greek Isles. Also incredible.

So yes.

I grew up 80's 90's. My generation had it easier than any generation before or after. The one before me grew up drilling for nuclear war. The one after me grows up drilling to be shot to death.

That was my second phone. I had the old black Startac before that but I was too broke to pay the bill so it lasted 2 or 3 months. I didn't get internet in my house until 2005 because I was waiting for the whole 'online' fad to die out.

Unless you are huddled in a battle trench, sick as a dog, or starving, all times are great times. I’m in my 7th decade and it keeps getting better!

People love to say how great the 80’s were, and they absolutely were.

But the 90’s were even better.
