What are your favorite herbicides and fertilizers?

Same for every Bermuda

Just look up Ronk’s post history.
Celsius, MSM Turf, Quinclorac for post emergents.
Any 13-13-13 fertilizer will do. Brand does not matter.
As you get more into it you might go the spoon fed 46-0-0 route next summer and look into PGRs or liquid iron.
It can be a lot of fun trying to get your lawn from good to exceptional
As for me, it’s MSM Turf, Lesco Stonewall 0-0-7, and probably some Milorganite next year. But I’ll kick the spring off with 13-13-13 because I still have a lot of it.

I do. I keep mine at 1.25" with a rotatory mower. I do a triple 13 in the spring, then 24-0-8 (I think) during the summer. I have a chemical guy that comes when needed and sprays pre emergent and post emergent. Now that my grass is more mature, I'm also having to verticut certain areas twice a year even with scalping it in the spring.

Do you rent a verticutter or a scarifier? Is that the same thing?
How bad does it tear up your lawn?
What about dethatching? I want to buy a power rake eventually…

What spreader setting do you use for the triple 13?

I bought a sunjoe and it works fine. Yes it looks pretty torn up for a few days but not a big deal. After a week, it’s much better. I tend to do it when the grass feels like I’m walking on a sponge.

What ever is recommended per bag or a little heavier. I just know 4 bags covers me so I throw 4

Celebration, according to their patent holder, “requires less nitrogen”. What does that mean? The standard used to be something like 1 lb/1000 square feet every month during the growing season for hybrid bermuda. Right?

I don’t fertilize that much. I’ve only fertilized twice. May and June.
