One of the big problems I see with Kelly and his staff is that they're reactionary, rather than proactive.
He said he didn't know his team before the first game. He's been coaching for 35 years and can't read a team? He said they didn't have the right competitive mindset entering the first game, and they didn't come out in the second half with urgency. So they decide to address those things after the fact.
They moved Perkins to inside linebacker, but had to wait until it was a complete failure in games before they realized it was a mjstake.
The defense hasn't tackled well the entire season, but it took over 200 yards after missed tackles (and another loss) before they look to address it in practice.
The supposedly talented defensive line has been bad all year, but it has to completely stink in another loss before they decide to bring in help.
It's like Kelly and his staff never see the oncoming train until it runs over them. Then they try to patch things up before the next train flattens them. Then they'll attempt to solve THAT problem when it's too late. No foresight at all.

What a joke...going to be a long Saturday, wonder what the excuses will be next Monday..."Look", "Process", "Learning".

In all fairness, Lacy did make a great catch Saturday. But the drops ....yeah.

Yeah it’s a bit unsettling he was previously a DC, meaning defense is his niche…what exactly did he see all summer? Was it not alarming?
He spoke so confidently of the team and its improvement going into the season. I could live with him point blank saying this team has serious issues on defense. How did this not leak out how much garbage the secondary was going to be?

Yeah I thought that was a dumb a** question by Jacq.

This is patently false especially on the defensive end. This is potentially the least talent that has been on an LSU roster in decades

Have we heard "No one is walking in the door" yet?

He needs to stop with the, "He's still learning the position" bullshite. I've had about enough of that. He was LB in Highschool was he not? Play the best player at that position, that simple!

Kelly is beginning to look hidebound.

Will there be tweaks after A&M. ?

Funny how it's always someone else's fault and never had coaching. Always someone else's fault. Yeah I've heard that song before in the political arena.

I must be listening to a different press conference.

Translation, its on him, not me! I guess we now know where the buck stops.

Analysis: He knows it better than any other linebacker on the field. He should start and not come off the field unless injured. ...

Sounds like Duce Chestnut is barely on the team anymore -- not listed as the four corners that we have, not listed on an injury report, and did not travel b/c of a coaches decision.

Damn, it was 15 minutes late for picking up his smoothie!
