What an MLB season it's been so far...

I'm curious to know the board's thoughts on HOF chances for the following players. Please feel free to add any others not listed if you think they have a shot.

***

Mike Trout
Max Scherzer
Nolan Arrenado
Freddie Freeman
Bryce Harper
Mookie Betts
Jose Altuve
Justin Verlander
JT Realmuto
Ronald Acuna

Realmuto has quite a bit of work to do to the point where I don’t think he gets in. I think the rest are either in already or will get there

Hall of Fame

Mike Trout
Max Scherzer
Freddie Freeman
Mookie Betts
Justin Verlander

Not HOF

JT Realmuto
Jose Altuve

Acuna is too early to tell. Nolan Arenado and Bryce Harper I can’t quite tell right now.

Freeman, Altuve, Harper, Realmulto, and Acuna probably still have some work to do

Acuna will most likely get there though

Think Freeman and Altuve might run out of time and Realmuto and Harper might just have too much work to do

Pretty comfident though in

Trout
Scherzer
Arenado
Mookie
Verlander

Trout - no hardware to show for the status he has, the recent injuries are slowing him down as well, I still think he gets in though
Scherzer - yes
Arrenado - at current pace, yes
Freeman - yes
Harper - yes
Betts - yes
Altuve - yes but will get dinged for cheating scandal, but eventually will get in
Verlander - yes
Realmuto - no
Acuna - assuming no major injuries, yes

Miguel Cabrera, Joey Votto, and Zack Greinke have a better shot than a couple on your list.

Some of y’all are underestimating how hard it is to make the baseball HOF. I don’t see Votto getting in. Altuve has work to do Astros fans. Cold hard facts.

Mike Trout - in
Max Scherzer - in
Nolan Arrenado - almost in
Freddie Freeman - almost in
Bryce Harper - almost in
Mookie Betts - in
Jose Altuve - close to in but stalled
Justin Verlander - in
JT Realmuto - trending but need to maintain a few more years
Ronald Acuna - strongly trending but long way to go

On Arrenado, Freeman and Harper I think all three could probably hang it up at the end of the season and eventually get it,
And will be locks with at least one more solid season.

Altuve needs one more strong season or 2-3 solid years.

Realmuto needs 2-3 more solid years.

I can't really see any Astros players that were part of the cheating 2017 season and afterwards get elected to the HOF

I think they end up getting blackballed

Freddie and Acuna are locks. I wonder if Austin Riley will make it. I doubt it but I wish he would.

Will be interesting to see how fried and striders careers go

Only three current pitchers are in the hall of fame. After Scherzer, Verlander and Kershaw name me another that is a lock or even in

Every single one of then minus Realmuto. Only other questionable one is Altuve but he is deserving IMO.

Arenado will likely take awhile to get in, but he is a top 2-3 defender in all of baseball over the last decade, and that’s for any position. He’s a better version of Scott Rolen.

Harper needs about 3-4 more seasons of elite production.

Freeman is one if best overall players of last decade.

Betts should be a 2-3 time MVP by the time his career is done.

Acuna has an amazing ceiling to be an all time great if he’s stays injury free.

Trout and Verlander are first ballot.

Scherzer is top 3 pitcher of last decade and has swayed WS championships

Freddie
Bryce
Altuve
Verlander
Acuña(The soon to be NL MVP)
Mookie

I'll also add:
Craig Kimbrel
Ozzie Albies
Miggy

And Will Clark should have been in a decade ago.

Oh, and Andruw Jones.

He should have been in 5 years ago.

Isn't 70 WAR the magic number? Based on that:

Already in:

Mike Trout
Max Scherzer
Mookie Betts
Justin Verlander

Work to do:
Bryce Harper
Jose Altuve
Freddie Freeman
Nolan Arrenado
Ronald Acuna

Too late:
JT Realmuto

Mike Trout-already in. Yes.
Max Scherzer-already in. Yes.
Nolan Arrenado-He will make it.
Freddie Freeman-He will make it.
Bryce Harper-Without a doubt will 100% make it. Kind of think he's already in now.
Mookie Betts-Without a doubt will 100% make it. Kind of think he's already in now.
Jose Altuve-Already in. Yes (unless the brainless morons come out with the muh trash can garbage)
Justin Verlander-already in. Yes
JT Realmuto-Sorry but no absolutely not
Ronald Acuna-Obviously way too young still but he's definitely on his way and think he makes it

Mike Trout YES
Max Scherzer YES
Nolan Arrenado PROBABLY
Freddie Freeman PROBABLY
Bryce Harper PROBABLY
Mookie Betts PROBABLY
Jose Altuve PROBABLY
Justin Verlander YES
JT Realmuto TBD
Ronald Acuna TBD

The YES guys are in if they retire today. Miggy, Kershaw, and I think Greinke are in as well.

The PROBABLY guys just need to finish out their careers strong and not have the tires fall off. Machado belongs here as well.

Realmuto is the most iffy on this list, but catchers typically get the most slack it seems.

Acuna is 25.. let's check back in 5-10.
