Looking to plan a long weekend trip during my daughters fall break mid October.

Any recommendations on someplace 6-7 hours from South Louisiana (Houma) with some fall colors. Doesn’t have to be a big city.

I lived in Tuscaloosa a couple years ago and we initially looked there, but they have a game that weekend and hotel and Airbnb prices are through the roof.

Chattanooga and/or Nashville are probably the closest that will have a good Fall feeling going on. 8 and 9 hours away from you, respectively.

Hot Springs, AR. 7.5 hours away. But it's in Arkansas.

Are we banning the use of aircraft in this scenario?

There’s a Thursday-Monday direct flight from New Orleans to Minneapolis for $140 if you want to reconsider

However, not sure how late the colors stay this far North.

Minneapolis should be at peak or right after peak at the middle of October

Hot Springs, AR is probably your best bet. Beautiful little town with lots to do.

If you’re not opposed to adding a couple of hours, Gatlinburg is a 10 hr drive. Branson also 10.

I love Hot Springs.

Would anyone recommend Natchez?

Somewhere around the Buffalo National River in Arkansas should be beautiful that time of year.

It is 7 hours from our house.

I honestly don't want to do anything. I just want some cooler weather and wanted some fall colors.

I have found some cool breweries and some cool hiking.
