F35 FOUND: Debris field located near Williamsburg County in search for missing F-35 fighter jet, officials confirm.
WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD)- Officials with Joint Base Charleston confirmed that debris from a F-35 fighter jet that went missing Sunday has been located near Williamsburg County.
The search began Sunday after a pilot was found on South Kenwood Drive in North Charleston after safely ejecting from the passing plane.
Joint Base Charleston said the incident involved “mishap” involving an F-35B Lightning II jet from Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 501 with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. George

BREAKING: Missing F-35 fighter jet crashed in Williamsburg County, north of Charleston

Must be a pretty remote field if no one noticed a fighter jet crashing and exploding.

That is along way from Cuba.

Still doesn't make a lot of sense after U.S. officials ordered a 2-day stand down for all military aviation inside as well as outside the United States after the F-35 went missing.
ABC News reported that "no units are allowed to fly" unless there is a discussion for two days about "safety measures and procedures."

I wouldn't read too much into the stand down thing. It's a basic CYA move any time something happens.

Williamsbur County, Cuba?

Well, at least we know definitively that the ejection system works. Mighty expensive way to test it, though.

There’s nothing in Williamsburg County except Scott’s BBQ and a bunch of AME churches. Actually pretty believable that no one would notice a fighter jet crash there.

The stand down order suggests to me that the pilot screwed up, or the unit screwed up in not having a specific SOP in place or something like that - and now everyone has to talk about it.

The thread on the poliboard that was seriously started by a user claiming it landed in Cuba based on a Twitter thread, that also had several TD members believing the conspiracy, has been deleted
Which is a shame, because there was some real gold in there. Such as crazy cat lady Cajunangelle claiming the Chinese definitely hacked it and landed it at a public commercial airport in Cuba, where a little known Twitter account with a blue checkmark witnessed it

F-35B Lightning II enabled an "unspecified automated flight system" and ejected over North Charleston, per WLTX News19.

Everyone around the area was likely in church when it passed over and fell.
Still interested in why/how the pilot ejected with autopilot on and presently no reported radioing of mechanical issues.

For them to issue a global stand down it sounds like we were hacked and the US is trying to find opening/patch.
