Season 2 has 87% and 82% from the critics and audience respectively. Maybe, just maybe, you plebs can’t separate your love of the books from the show that’s deviated a lot from the source material. That can’t be influencing your view of the show at all
I'd be curious as to the amount of viewers for season 2.

I powered through the first season and looked at the first couple of this season, as a non-reader. But I haven't come back yet.

I suspect there's a lot of folks who just gave up after season 1, and if the production standards have been raised, then those who are still watching (who liked it enough to give it more of a chance), are rating it higher due to that.

It HAS to have improved somewhat. Season 1 was on a par with Xena or Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, but without anyone with the charisma of Kevin Sorbo or Lucy Lawless, let alone the occasional Bruce Campbell appearances. Plus, at least Herc had some babes on the show, WoT hasn't had any eye candy.
If you're not going to be deep, then at least give us something to look at.

Because the dwindling audience willing to watch after Season 1, were going to like whatever crap they shite out for season 2

Most of us have been quite explicit about why we don't like it.

Perhaps you are just too childish or obtuse, to understand criticism you don't like?

no, they actually do like it.
I don't believe that.

Even the way they defend it suggests scorn for those who don't like the show as their focus. . .rather than any of them pointing out any characters/plot points/aspects of the show they like. They just want the fight, without fighting for anything.

Believe me, there are no book fans still watching the show.

Oh, bullshite. Every book reader I know either quit around book 8 or slogged through "just to see how it ends".

Those that are watching the show (not all have Prime) think it's better.

I completed the book series not too long ago.

Season 1 was absolute shite, but I love the wheel of time world and just watched casually.

Season 2 has been markedly better.

However the show does not tell the same story as the book. It’s like a different story in the same world. That’s going to piss off a lot of people who read the books and apparently a lot of people who didn’t. I’m just enjoying it for what it is.

At least twice in the series, they have referred to Lews Therin as the Dragon Reborn. It's been a couple decades since I read the first 5 or 6 books, but Lews Therin was The Dragon. Prophecy tells of a Dragon Reborn (Rand). If Lews Therin is the Dragon Reborn, then who the F was The Dragon?

Lew's Therin wasn't the first Dragon.

And his paths shall be many, and who shall know his name, for he shall be born among us many times, in many guises, as he has been and ever will be, time without end. His coming shall be like the sharp edge of the plow, turning our lives in furrows from out of the places where we live in silence. The breaker of bonds; the forger of chains. The maker of futures; the unshaper of destiny.

So they weren't fans of the books? Their opinions are meaningless to me. When I say book readers, I am assuming we all understand that to mean "fans of the books they have read"

People who disliked the book series, like a show made by people who likely also dislike the book series.

Shocked!

That's a pathetic assumption. Are you a fan of every single book or series you've ever read?

He is the Dragon of the First Age so I think it’s reasonable to say that he is the first Dragon.

Most fans of a book series don’t hate half the books in that series.

I am a fan of every book series I have read that I also watched a television/film adaption of. . .

. . .that is an easy, safe assumption for everyone everywhere, except your friends.

He isn’t. And Lews Therin is not from the First Age.

Thanks for the correction. For some reason I had in my head that "Age of Legends" was the First Age.

That's when I knew

And that was all in the first episode.

I didn't get any further.

The books are amongst my all-time favorites

Yep.

This show was dead halfway through what should have been a rejected pilot.

It doesn't deserve a season thread, but I guess if 1 thread can keep this shitty show from cluttering the board, that's fine.

I'd rather just forget this show ever got greenlighted. Hopefully it ends Rafe's career.

I've watched both seasons, and have enjoyed parts and hated parts.

It's similar to the MCU for me. I love getting to see the characters and stories I grew up loving in movies/tv shows. This show has been no different. I thought some of the casting was odd, but they have grown on me with every episode. While there are some serious character deviations(Lan, come on, man...), they've done a great job with others. The arches and domane, Hopper and Elias, Selene, so much character development and great portrayals even if it's different from the source material.

Lanfear has been money, easily the best part of season 2, IMO. I was disappointed with not getting the showdown with Turok, but I don't think they would have had time to for it in the episode. Frankly, I think the fight in the sky above Falme and the fight in the Eye of the World would both have been kinda cheesy on screen. I have no problem with how either were adapted for the show.

My wife is a huge LOTR fan, and she'll tell me about the differences between the books and the movies/show. She's never read WoT, so I'll tell her what I like and don't like, but we still enjoy the show.

Hate watched all of season 2 because I can't walk away

It isn't awful, it just isn't NEAR what it should be. Even if they want to change the entire storyline up to fit both film and their agenda, it should be better.

I was raging mad at the finale when Rand was pushed aside for more OMG GIRL POWER. Just unnecessary and forced. Also, they make these battles so campy.

Likes: Logain, Elayne, Seanchan, Lanfear, Ishamael, Mat, Perrin

Luke warm: Rand (they made him into a somewhat bitch) Nynaeve, Lan, Moiraine, white cloaks

Hate: Edqwene, The red lady with the man jaw, and the Snuffalupagus cosplay they call Loial

Season 2 was good. Last few episodes were great.

Haters gonna hate. They set up a great season 3 with the Forsaken
