Years ago I decided to learn how to make cocktails instead of relying on bourbon and coke…
This is what I did.. Buy a book called “ in the land of cocktails”… was written by Brennan sisters…(nola cocktail girls) … this has all the classics.. and classic Nola cocktails … fun reading and includes history of the cocktails…
I went through the book and made a list of everything required to make all the cocktails.. nothing worse than starting on something and not having what you need..
I went to specs and gave the assistant my list… he laughed and said yeah we have this.. let me take your cart and you just follow because we are going to be wandering the store..
You will now be able to experiment and will be amazed at the wonderful variety out there….. I also have a few books (5000 cocktails ..etc)… but when your list gets that big you will never have all the stuff required and always be buying stuff to make something and then never make it again…
I definitely have a few favorite from the book.. !!!!
Have fun

Have you tried Sex-on-the-beach? I hear it's all the rage now.
Vodka
Peach Schnaaps
Orange Juice
Cranberry Juice
If you want to get crazy, add a splash of lemon juice.

Naked & Famous
Equal parts Mezcal, Aperol, Lime Juice, and Green Chartreuse. Mix and shake over ice, then strain. Hard to predict the number of cocktails it will take for y’all to replicate the name of the drink.

I have one of these at the house.
Mostly use it for smoked Old Fashioneds but surely there are other cocktails that would be worth trying smoked.

Don't have them often but an egg white whiskey sour (Boston Sour) is very easy to make and delicious.

Had plenty of these on a beach vacation this summer except with Reyka. Great hot weather drink.

This is my wife's go to:
One part Hendrix Gin.
1/2 part St. Germaine
1.5 parts fresh squeezed grapefruit juice (has to be fresh squeezed)
Add simple syrup to the desired sweetness. (depends on how sour/sweet the grapefruit juice is)
Few drops of Boston Bitters.
Shake vigorously. Pour over rocks.

5 oz vodka (I prefer Reyka)
1 oz Dirty Dat olive juice
1 or 2 Mezzetta Martini Olives
Shaken with a lot of ice.
I’ve settled in on this as my favorite Dirty martini.
