Yes , my friends and I would head to the coast that morning watch the game go out that night and play at the Beau,
Then play golf on saturday.
That was our tradition until from 2001 to it ended.

Always seemed like we were coming off a tough game against Bama
I don't ever remember playing Bama that late in November.
always either the 1st or 2nd Saturday.

Liked it. Thought it was good for LSU exposure because we were the only game on.
It also gave us a Saturday night during football season to go out, which I don't do unless going to the game live.

I liked it but would prefer it being a 6 PM game if you’re talking about going in person.
Watching from home, 230 CBS on the Black Friday is great for the LSU brand. It’s not great for those attending the game. Loved eating leftovers and watching these games. Just relaxing.

Bama has been the first Saturday in November for a very long time.

was 2nd weekend for a few years around '04-'06ish.
my son was born on the 16th in 2004. Mama games was only a couple days before (wife was pissed that I went when she was spitting out a kid any day )
had the Bama game on for his 1st or 2nd birthday too.

Don’t like any games on any Friday or any days other than Saturday.

I can’t imagine a world where Bama and LSU aren’t playing in the first Saturday of November. I really think this 2024 schedule is temporary and that they are figuring out a model that really works.
Really have a hard time seeing an LSU schedule without Bama Ole Miss and Florida on it. Hell even Arkansas.

I always liked it. Gave me something to look forward to while my wife worries about Christmas.

I hated the Arkansas game on the Friday after Thanksgiving for several reasons.
1. It generally created a poor atmosphere in and around TS. Many students, as well as the general public who attended LSU games were often out of town for Thanksgiving. Playing on Saturday allows those folks to return back to BR after Thanksgiving.
2. It was always a "forced" rivalry. Part of that forced aspect was putting the game on a day other than Saturday for no other reason than to try to make it a big deal.
3. Many times it resulted in some degree of sloppy play. It forced a short week of prep during a holiday week where the players, on both teams, at least wanted to celebrate some semblance of Thanksgiving. The players' minds are not completely on football on Thanksgiving...then they had to turn around and play a day game the next day. At least with a game on Saturday it gives the players a day to refocus before playing. It also forced the visiting team to travel on or before Thanksgiving.

always said Aggie was the new Arkansas in that aspect, they’ve always prepared the best during LSU week

I loved it. Was one of my favorite weekends of the year. Thanksgiving the day before. Hang out drink eat left overs and watch lsu football the next day. And arky always gives us trouble so it provided some late season drama a lot of years.

Loved having the national spotlight on the game but here’s it otherwise.
