UPDATED: Some highlights:
Said up front Kay Ivey had done a great job (LOL) ... later he said "Kay in politics you need some personality.” NOW THAT WAS FUNNY (he just didn't know it).
Then even later, he said he was going to send education money to the states and talked about how much we spend per pupil and don't get the results... and looked at Kay Ivey and said "“Can you handle that Kay” ... "you Lt Gov?" (to Ainsworth). Well, that was a BIG joke and he did not know it. Ivey and Ainsworth are responsible for an awful job with K-12 ed as Alabama ranks near the bottom.
He also brought up debating and something to her... Kay Ivey refused to debate after her first partial term - she had never won Gov race at that point.
The audience was pretty enthusiastic the first ten minutes or so, then became somewhat subdued ... two of the biggest applauses came regarding woke issues: one was re LBTQlmnop and the other was "I will keep men out of women sports". (One of the very things DeSantis talks about)
The loudest applause came when he said he would build I-65 6 lanes from Huntsville to Mobile "ON DAY ONE".
Said he supported putting tariffs on everything - close to dead silence
"Hard to blow a 30+ point lead"
Trashed DeSantis with his typical class
“Will totally obliterate the Deep State” "“We will drain the swamp … it will go quickly”" (LOL)
Acknowledged that he did not complete the border wall by saying he wants to build 200 more miles.
Lied again about DeSantis re Medicare and Social Security (Trump has no plan - does not care)
Lee Greenwood was there and Mike the pillow guy.

Agree. It is interesting that they picked Montgomery. Maybe Huntsville could not seat 2,700? Huntsville would be better - in general. Downtown Bham also not great.
