There’s got to be another trade here. I can’t keep watching Julks in the lineup 5 out of 7 games

This is a discussion for tomorrow but now we have 6 good starters, do we put Javier and/or Brown on the DL at some point over the next 2 months to save their arms a bit?

you mean Crane's greedy arse lining his pockets, then yes, that's exactly where it's going.

Dana Brown when asked about this week's trades:

"I didn't draft them bitches."

I'm very happy to have Cylander back, but giving up Gilbert to me is too much. Imagine Mets sending back a lot of money.

Encouraging at least

It's quite clear which of the posters haven't watched any of Verlander's starts all month of July. He has ace stuff right now and I won't be surprised if he finishes the season with another sub 3 ERA year and on the bump game one of the ALDS for us.

Yeah, I said yesterday that JV is just getting better as the year goes on. Don’t discount him not having to pitch the first two months of the season, either.

The Mets are picking up “a significant portion” of the contract per a USA Today article. Didn't say a number though.

it feels good to wash ourselves of the Vols stink. Gilbert brought the always the bridesmaid energy to the franchise

Well, I hope JV stuffs it up my arse, but his WS record is impossible to overlook

Nobody would argue that Judge's numbers aren't worth his salary, until the playoffs start

Scherzer has that bulldog factor, IMO

I mean, he had back issues in the '19 Series that delayed his start to Game 7, where he promptly went out and beat us with a lot of help from Hinch

I’d be thrilled to be back in the WS with Verlander having another chance to improve his record.

@BNightengale
The New York #Mets are sending the #Astros about $54 million in the Justin Verlander trade, one executive said, if Verlander's $35 million option in 2025 becomes vested.
Verlander is owed about $93 million, meaning the #Astros would pay Verlander about $29 million for 2 1/3 years

His math is off since it's $39 million total but that's still less than the AAV on Lemon's contract so pretty fricking good.

This deal gives JV an outside shot to get to 300 wins for his career while repping an Astros jersey doing so.
