TENNIS star Yibing Wu has collapsed at the Mubadala Citi DC Open just weeks after his horror moment at Wimbledon.

Wu was beating Yosuke Watanuk 4-1 in the round of 64 but due to his incident was forced to retire from the match.

only 5 games into the match and 85 degrees.....Wish him the best in his recovery and figuring out what is causing this.

As someone who follows tennis very closely, he has a heart condition, which almost certainly led to the retirement. Even 85 degrees, if you have a heart condition, can lead to issues.

Don't make this into a bigger issue than that.

Edit: Don't know why I would be downvoted for bringing some truth to a sensationalist thread. Whatever.

All these athletes collapsing. They are pushing their hearts too hard causing cardio arrest. Need to take it easy after Covid/poison jab

Because half the OT feels the only way to fight the media is by posting fake senaationalist headlines. We all know athletes never collapsed or died before the vaccine despite cardiac arrest being acknowledged as the #1 killer of ncaa basketball players in 2015 and them making new rules to have extra personnel on the sidelines with defrillabraters

Definitely an odd career so far for Wu. He was the Boys US Open Champion in 2017. Experienced normal growing pains in 2018. Then didn't play another match between March 2019 and February 2022 due to injuries and Covid shutdowns.

His game is built for fast hard courts, so I was really looking forward to watching him this summer. At this point he needs to shut it down until indoor season.
