When I buried my Yellow Lab (Pete) I told my wife "Never again". Just too much pain. At some point back then, the wife did a pastel of me holding Pete and Fifteen years later, it still feels bad when I walk by and see it on the wall in the back hallway.
Sorry to see your loss.

Did you fricking human scumbags not read the other issues the dog had.. Some people are just cruel and subhuman.
He did the right thing by her out of love..
I hope being an a-hole to a guy in pain made you feel like a real man. You are not a real man.

Those of us who have been there totally relate and know the pain you feel, God bless.

Sorry about your furry friend.
I've never gotten attached to pets and I'm not sure why.
But they can be family members.

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.” – Dean Koontz

I have had to do this three times in my life. The fourth dropped dead on a walk. That was painful but less so than having to put the other three down. It's miserable and I feel for you.

We're having to do that to our 11yo lab this afternoon. Over the last week or so he's gone from moving around slow to having no use of his back legs.

I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a friend like her is unimaginably hard. Trust me, I know the pain associated with a loss like that.
You had her while you did. Memories you will cherish forever.

Condolences on the loss of your best buddy. It's never easy. When the time is right Anything that you can do to help out your local shelter whether adoption, donation or fostering would be a great way to honor her memory. My wife and I are currently fostering two dogs and rescued and raising two other dogs and two cats. So rewarding to ease the suffering.

I’m truly sorry for the loss. I had to put my 17 year old Lhasa Apso down a few months ago. It was the hardest thing to do as she had been part of my life since she was a puppy. I miss her always being excited to see me no matter how long I had been gone, sitting in my lap, etc.

The only problem with dogs is that they don't last long enough.

I'm so sorry for you because I am feeling the same way. My dog was fine one day and died in her sleep that night. 15 years old. Every time I see her picture, I get emotional. It's hard.
