Just rewatched this absolute banger last night. I was younger when this came out so it’s a little more nostalgic I guess. But let me say that Disney will NEVER, and I mean NEVER be able to replicate a movie this good again.

It blows my mind how the action can be exciting, have incredible practical effects, characters feel so authentic, while the humor not being cringe like it is today. No trying to push some political narrative, just straight up fun.

This is what a blockbuster should be but I think this is an era long gone. Is it even possible for Disney to get back to this level?

I look at it as the movie of The Secret Of Monkey Island, as it is as close as we will ever get thanks to Barbossa and company effectively being Ghost Pirate LeChuck and his phantom crew.

Kierra Knightley is so pretty in this movie. It’s distracting!

Jack Sparrow was tailor made for Johnny Depp.

I absolutely love the first 3 movies with 1 being by far the best. Can't believe it's been 20 years since it came out. That was a good time for Disney/Pixar too. No they just put out garbage.

Loved this one. Davey Jones animation is still top tier as well in the other movie.

It’s amazing how much bad content we get these days. Watching almost any movie even 10 years that was popular at the time makes it so apparent.

I recently showed my 6&7 yo boys these movies. I had so much fun watching them watch the movies. They’re full blown swashbucklers now hahaha.

I really loved the Pirates franchise greatly, especially the first three.

Great memory of seeing my 11 year old son jump higher than he ever has when that monkey popped up at the ending of that movie.
