Can you back this up?

I wanted to trade Kira and a pick for Collin Sexton and pay him like $18M a year bc we lacked a shot creating guard. Then Collin got injured. And we eventually picked up Graham for a 1st instead (so again, not like our GM did better there). Now we have CJ making $35M a year.

For every Collin Sexton, I call a Joe Burrow in 2018, a Hali in 2020, a Maxey in 2020, a Sengun in 2021, Bouknight being Aids in 2021, Mathurin in 2022 (there was a lot of division on that last year.)

Batting 6 out of 7 on random shite ain’t bad. And Collin got injured, so his story is still ongoing. It might be over now, but judging my player evaluations based on 1 of the players I liked happening to get injured is probably a bit incomplete. Btw Collin averaged 14 pts last year on 50% FG and 39% 3 across in 24 mins per game, across 48 games. Imagine if we had gotten anything like that out of Graham the past 2 seasons. Maybe we would still have 5 second rd picks.

I also think people tend to misunderstand what I’m saying about these role players at times. It’s not as if I’m advocating that Bol is a superstar.

It’s not as if I was saying Jared Harper was a superstar (just thought he was better than Kira).

Another guy I feel like I’ve been proven right on is Naji. 99.9999% of this board hated the guy and he actually turned into a decent role player for us that at least half the league would probably have in their rotation.

That’s how I see Bol Bol. A guy you deploy 25-30 games a year to fulfill a certain role, not as a finishing 5 piece in every playoff game.

In other news, Memphis just gave 3 2nds to Phoenix for 2 pick swaps.

We might be able to offer some swaps In exchange for seconds or to move Kira for another piece

You actually suggested trading number 10, 35, Kira, Bledsoe, multiple additional seconds, and another future first for Sexton because you were so sure he was what we needed (I’m sure I don’t need to point out who those picks all turned into).

Look, I’m not trying to be an arse, but no one cares who you got right and who got wrong. We all have our guys that we call early that work out or don’t.

And that’s exactly my point, this is TD. Beating one’s chest will always get downvoted and no one gives a frick about who you were right about.

Yeah I don’t get the boner for Sengun. He will never be an all star.

I expected he would get a max for his next deal

I don't think that was possible b/c his original deal with SA was so low. The jump to a max wasn't legal.

An all-star? Probably not.

I see as more of a poor man's Sabonis. Which is still a very useful player and a good value, considering where Sengun was drafted. I think he'll look better, with better talent.

We still came out ahead in that class.

Yeah, I posted above about it but some dudes want to beat their dicks about Segun that has absolutely nothing to do with free agency.

If they would've waited until after this season he could've signed a max contract with them, but because the did it via extension he was maxed out at the contract that he signed.

It's pretty wild to me that he chose to lock in now, rather than going to free agency. Surely he could've signed for more than 4 years 111 mill in the off-season. Cam Johnson got 4 years 108, Kuzma 4 years 102, VanVleet 3 years 130, Jerami Grant 5 years 160. He's better than those first 2, IMO and just as good as the second 2.

I think looking back on who you got right is really fun, but you also have to be willing to admit who you got wrong.

My big board for that draft was:

1- Tyrese Haliburton
2- Onyeka Okongwu
3- Anthony Edwards
4- Deni Avdija
5- Killian Hayes
6- Tyrese Maxey
7- Kira Lewis
8- Patrick Williams
9- Devin Vassell
10- Isaac Okoro
11- James Wiseman
12- LaMelo Ball
13- Desmond Bane
14- Obi Toppin

Who would’ve thought Advija is the best defender in that draft? Can’t wait to see what he does this year

I’m not some big Sengun guy, but you’re underselling him. At 20 years old and his second season in the NBA, he averaged per 36 over 18 pts, 11 reb, and nearly 5 assists per game on nearly 60% TS%, and 33% from 3.

I used per 36 to make it easier to see his production as a full-time starter in the minutes he played. He played only 28 minutes per game because as a young guy, he’s prone to fouling a lot.

With time he will get even better. I see him as a lesser, more inexperienced Jokic. He will never reach Jokic’s level, but if Jokic’s level is a multiple-time MVP, Sengun could certainly be an all-star.

Dame allegedly will not show up to any training camp but the Miami Heat's

Dame is about to become a precedent one way or the other.

If Dame forces his way to Miami, who has shite to deal, the NBA is officially broken.

NBA is about to ask to redo the CBA to get NFL-style fines for that sort of behavior.

Cool, then we just won't pay you your $50M if you don't show up.
You don't have a no trade clause, so go frick yourself. If you want to know how to tank your image, this is how.

Again per 36 is a stat for people like you to say a player is better than they actually are. If he was actually good he would get more minutes on one of the 3 worst teams in the NBA. It’s not even like his per 36 is godly anyway. That wouldn’t get him to an all star game especially if you actually watch him and see how bad he is defensively. Hell JV is 20 and 15 on per 36
