Some renditions look similar to City Park in New Orleans

If done right, this will be great for the city and the university.

I agree, but that's a very big "if".

Considering the current city "leadership", if it ends up looking half as good as those renderings, it will be a win.

Who is going to maintain the Lakes once the project us completed? The C-P loved to get new toys, but they don’t keep it up.

I'm hoping that there might be some sort of partnership between the city and LSU to maintain the lakes.

They really could be the crown jewel of the city if they are kept up, kept clean, and safe.

Interesting that a company based in New York with closest offices in Indiana could win a public low bid contract.

Hmmmmmm

I feel as though the renderings don’t include enough gators sunning themselves on the bike paths

How about Stocking the Lakes

I have caught a ton of bass and bluegill the past few years in City Park lake. The trick is punching through the mats of vegetation. The largest bass I have caught anywhere was off the beach at May Street.

At those depths, they're really ponds instead of lakes. The LSU ponds just doesn't sound right though.

when I went there 23 yrs ago, I never saw algae like that. what changed? just got shallower and hotter?

I’ve noticed that the past 10 years. The LSU lakes have been overwhelmed with algae and invasive vegetation. Not sure of the guidelines but this can be easily eliminated with non-harmful treatments.

The current BR Admin has done a good job of cleaning up many areas of town that needed it. (Still have work to do on that though.) I will bet they can/will keep the new Lakes areas in good shape over time.
