It’s almost like he went out there on a mission to make up for frickface ump.

Umpires are like defensive backs. It's usually a good thing when you don't hear or think about them during a game.

Amen, but do we know who is going to be behind home plate tonight?!

Had 1 inning where it got a bit dicey but it was maybe 2 pitches and not 3-4 straight batters.

Overall a high quality outing by Blue.

We were fortunate to get a pretty wide strike zone.

Definitely benefits us vs a tight zone with the way we walk batters.

he was the complete opposite of monday nights fella

heard him all throughout the game telling hitters where the pitch was

not noticing an umpire is the whole goal.. it's baseball, not the ump show

Mostly consistent, which to me is what matters.

Home plate was good, but of course perennial frickup Jeff Head missed the takeout slide at second. We wouldn’t have turned it, but sliding through the bag could have broken JT’s ankle. I’m sure Head isn’t done screwing something up!

I loved that when the pitcher missed, he gave an indication of where it missed for him. And for the first time, I watched a UT player respectfully talk to an umpire about a call rather than act like clown. It was a great night of baseball last night

Casey moser was umpire at 3rd last night—does that mean he rotates to home plate tonight?

This is better not just for us, but for the game in general. College pitchers do not, generally speaking, have MLB levels of pinpoint control. The weirdly tight strike zones in SEC play this year artificially inflated offense and distorted play. 13-8 is not a normal baseball score. Nobody enjoys watching a walk-fest. The game is better when hitters are swinging the bats and fielders are making plays.

It's kind of amazing that the NCAA is so bad at picking umps that him and Jeff Head are both in Omaha.

I definitely noticed him. I think he did an incredible job, especially considering the garbage we've seen so far. His strike zone was a bit wide, but he was consistent and made the calls immediately. Not like that pos from Monday who was all over the place and would almost wait for everyone's reaction before making the call.

eta: Agree with the above posts too. It is refreshing to hear the ump on mic saying where the pitches miss and what he saw. He even talked with one of the Tennessee batters after a questionable strikeout telling him what he saw. Versus, getting in the batter's face for daring to question him.
