Time to move the series

We won. But you can’t play in a park for the national championship where 4 balls (two from each team) that mathematically would be out of any park in America doesn’t reach the warning track. The designer of that field and his family should be homeless for multiple generations. Play it in a dome on turf. Small ball teams are fast and homerun balls are actually home runs not routine pop fly’s. Ruining the game.

Balls hit on the screws in the gap shouldn't reward the pitcher.
Sure it's different when the wind isn't blowing in, but it's almost always blowing in.

The ball carries better late in the evening. It’s not a surprise how it plays. Teams need to adjust.

I'm here. It's an unbelievable facility and a great town (surprisingly). The wind blew in today so it's a different test. I like it.

So you are bitching about conditions that don't exist all year and your solution is to play in a dome on turf, which most teams also don't do all year.

It's nice, but it's not unbelievable. Pretty cookie cutter.
Town is nice though.
It also has an awful sun field for half the 6pm starts. The park is fine, they just oriented it in the wrong direction. I wouldn't be upset if they got punished by losing the CWS for such a colossal frick up.

Learn to adjust your hitting?

Yup.
Both teams play in the same park.
Just fricking deal with it.

The stadium is nice, but nothing earth shattering. It was hot as frick in the outfield. When the wind is blowing in you get no wind sitting in the outfield. It was bearable Saturday with the wind blowing out. It sucked yesterday and today with the wind blowing in.

Agree 100%
I'm not sure why Omaha has a monopoly on the CWS at this point.
They built a terrible park for the college baseball championship.
The park for the championship should represent a majority of the parks the 195 NCAA teams play in.
Anyone saying teams should adjust have an agenda to not move the series for some reason.
You don't force teams to change the way they play when determining a champion. That's ridiculous and not the correct way to treat the teams that won certain ways to get there.
If this park can't accommodate and better match a majority of NCAA baseball teams then there needs to be a discussion about where can.

I disagree with this premise. Of course it's true for the current conditions but it's not an excuse for how the ballpark is oriented. They don't get a pass because they've always been the host.

Talk at one time was moving fence in a bit.
Make it happen.
Make it happen.

This park was built for a higher capacity, but I would love to see them renovate it and bring the outfield walls in a few feet. This park really doesn’t play like most others in college baseball, and that isn’t the best thing when it comes to deciding a champion. I know all of the teams have to deal with it, but removing HRs from half of the games isn’t necessarily a good thing.

Everyone has been wishing this for years even when it plays to our advantage.
The issue is that it’s an outlier. If the majority of parks actually played like this it would be fine, literally no team’s park plays like this.

Both teams should play in a park that rewards teams with power. It doesn’t have to be where everyone can blast it out the park, but power hitters shouldn’t have this much trouble hitting home runs.

It’s not that simple. There likely aren’t that many parks that aren’t on college campuses that can handle a CWS. I just had this discussion with some family members this weekend and reminded them that it’s the same reason the SEC sticks with Hoover- there’s room for all of the fans and especially the tailgaters and RV crowd. Sure, there’s a ton of minor league parks around, but how many can hold the thousands of fans of 8 teams who show up for this event?
Omaha is locked in for a long time, so the best option right now is for this park to be altered to play more like the majority of medium to large college baseball stadiums.
