I wouldn’t want “a weather window” to do this dive. The weather better be fricking immaculate so we don’t have to wait around and hope we can squeeze in a dive.
the weather is never immaculate here

The deep submersible ALVIN operated by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has made 5142 without killing anybody.

LINK /

It is civilian but operated to Navy standards.

Can you imagine? That’s my worst nightmare

A hot, stuffy, fricking little sub stuck down in the pitch black. They’re fricked

What sub has the capability to go down there and wrestle them free or transfer them
That’s in the area?

It’d take 10 Xanax to calm me down

Someone was overheard saying “Even God himself couldn’t sink this sub!”

They drive this thing into the titanic? That sounds absurd.

Civilian subs are notorious for going down there and creating more damage. That’s part of the reason the deck is in shittier shape than it should be. So it wouldn’t shock me that IF they are stuck in the wreckage, that it’s because they decided to land on the deck or carelessly ran into it.

Imagine being the guy to look at everyone and be like,” Welp, We’re fricked”

I wonder how long he chose to plan that speech beforehand

I kind of think the wreckage and lives lost aboard the Titanic should be honored by leaving it the hell alone.

Hamish, along with Viktor Vescovo, set records for being the first ones to reach the bottom of the Marianas Trench, then for how long they stayed down there. I was worried that Vescovo might have been on the sub, but he wasn't.

Naw, some guys went almost 6 decades prior... then several others before Hamish. He was the 19th visitor, Vescovo was the 4th.

Any update provided? Would imagine there’s on a few hours of oxygen in those things.
