I went through a bad case of this a few years ago. Upper 40’s, no kids, lots of struggles, why the hell am I even here for?

I got through it by chasing pretty Latinas. I find that’s a worthy goal although I rarely catch any.

I'm not gonna preach, but just offer this advice: do go camping for a week, by yourself. But leave all the intoxicants behind, they just keep you from feeling what you need to feel.

I'm dang near 64 and retire in a few months. I've found that as I got older my give a rip meter is starting to peg out. Stuff doesn't bother me anymore and I'll answer truthfully to any question. Some aren't fond of that. LOL. Spending time with my son at the gym and the golf course and playing with and attending functions of our 10 grandchildren keep me going. Walk 2-3 miles nearly everyday, feed our chickens, starting to build garden boxes for next year, and just chilling out on the porch with a cup of coffee has become my zen.

Knowing that I have way more life behind me than in front of me is daunting, and I think of it often. Fortunately I believe in the power of Jesus Christ and that helps me so much come to grips with our mortality.

So with all that said, not sure if I have ever had an existential crisis but sure do have a lot of crap in my mind to sort out. But I breathe and bleed so that is part of life.

Cheers my brothers and sisters.......

Not really--but I do yearn for the days of my childhood more often than I should.

I was a child in the late 70s and 80s. Graduated HS in 1988. It was a wonderful time to be alive, right before BR really spun out of control and down the shitter.

Lots of memories of when things that seem archaic and simple now brought us much joy then. Riding bikes, playing outside, not being married to our technology.

Don't get me wrong--I'm all about the internet and being able to answer any question I might have with a couple clicks on the Google machine--but I'm a little sad that a whole generation of kids won't experience the simple but great existence we had back then.

Maybe not existential, but the older I get the more disillusioned I get with the ways of the world. Maybe it’s just my world, but greed, vanity, and dishonesty are rewarded at the expense of honest, humble people. Maybe it’s because I’m witnessing it now where I work where one of the most honest and good men I’ve ever worked with is getting pushed out by two evil, greedy, power hungry men that should have long ago retired(they’re both late 60’s, early 70’s) I’ve lost a lot of motivation to work and losing pride in my work over it.

Getting out and hiking, camping, sitting by a campfire does wonders. It'll totally reboot and recharge you.
