Look what Skip did for college baseball! How can you not add LSU to be a blue blood. Blue Blood to me is what has the team done for the sport and LSU has certainly earned being a blue blood
This is why LSU is the bluest of blue bloods
The #1 blue blood is LSU
Add Witchita State to the list.
LSU and Skip Bertman taught the rest of the SEC and the country
How to do college baseball

There is no doubt that we were lucky with timing of Skip but what he built is a blue blood program because of all the media exposure we got. Everybody in the country now perceives us as a blue blood and perception is all that matters
If you asked a bunch of college baseball fans to name the top 7 baseball programs in the nation, I guarantee you we’d be at the top of the list.
Haven’t we led the nation in attendance for over 25 years?

I don't know if this is a yardstick of "blue bloods", but when ESPN was first getting started (early 80's), some of their bread & butter programming was Australian rules football and college baseball. In those days, my memory is that Oklahoma State, USC, Wichita State, and Texas seemed to be in the majority of televised games (baseball, that is; not Aussie footy.)
And for some reason I remember lots of teams had white batting helmets; looked like a bunch of mushrooms.
Side note: I wish they'd bring back Australian football; it made rugby seem civilized.

Ole Miss has won more than anybody since 2021.

Northern Colorado
Anyone old enough to remember this school being dominant in baseball?
Also, I would have bet (and lost) good money that Wichita State would have been on this list.

My juco baseball coach’s younger brother was a starter on the 84 CSF championship team for Augie… just looked at the schedule on that link… it said they played 86 games that year, HOLY shite.

In my eyes, you are a “blue blood” in a sport if you have 4 or more national championships in that sport in the last 75 years.

The writing was on the wall when George Horton went to Oregon. He usually had them in the thick of it.

That’s says more about Oregon. They wanted to start a baseball program, wanted to win, and was willing to use Nike money to make it happen quickly.

Definitely. I guess they didn’t want OSU having all the fun.

I do question the relevance of a Blue Blood designation in college baseball when so few of the programs with the historical success to lay claim to such a title are top programs today. If you were to make a list of the top programs of the last 10 or even 20 years and compare it against the list of Blue Bloods there would be very little overlap. Most of the old money has run dry.

USC, Texas, Fullerton, Miami
