So sitting with 2 games (at best), possibly 4 games (at worst) left with all but 1 arm unavailable is the wrong move? I’m sure as hell glad JJ doesn’t listen to the rant.

That said, there’s no wrong answer imo. Would Skenes pitch a full 9 against OSU? No way to know. What I do know is that LSU used one arm for game one and everybody else in the regional used at least 3. There’s a lot to be said about that.

Really wanted this thread to be more about acknowledging his greatness and not arguing the decision……

Very likely just making up stuff in my head but I almost feel like it was a gift from CJJ to Skenes to let him dominate for a complete game, still throw 100 mph in the 9th and be the 1/2 pick in the draft just to eliminate any doubt whatsoever. BUT, shows CJJ has balls and trust in his team. Truthfully, if t he rest of the staff can’t get us to a Super then we don’t deserve to go. Play ball and Geaux Tigers!

But yea I’d rather have every pitcher available after a CG G1 win rather than using Hurd, Ack, Cooper, and Guidry to get the win with 2 of those guys done for the weekend and none available for G2.

That's a ridiculous statement. It's wrong, as only one of those guys would likely be done for the weekend (Hurd).

More importantly, in the scenario you describe you'd have Skenes for game 2 and Floyd for game 3 in that scenario. You think the availability of Ack, Cooper, and Guidry is more valuable?

That's laughable.

I’m so baffled that we have this many weird fans.
We were suppose to beat Tulane. How hard is it to understand?

Because we won and burned our ACE all you can say is Jay was right. That’s all you’ve been able to say since yesterday. Of course he was right, because we were suppose to win. Skenes was the better option vs OSU. That’s just a fact.

Saying he was right before the regional is over is the pure example of how unintelligent you are about Baseball.

Just for the record I’m happy with the win and have total confidence in Floyd tonight, check my post history, but it doesn’t change that the decision was not the right one. 8/9 coaches would agree with me, the one being Jay.

Yes. And, it's obvious.

If Skenes were to go his normal 7 tonight you likely would be in the exact same bullpen situation for game 3 as you will be if Floyd and bullpen pull off a win.

More importantly though, the chances of losing this game are waaaaaay higher with no Skenes.

The argument for holding Skenes has nothing to do with last night. It had to do with tonight. Pointing to last night shows you don't even understand the basic argument.

You’re right, he was great yesterday. Debating the decision is a hot topic, so you’ll get that regardless.

Why? Every top 8 seed has their ace ready for game 2 tonight against a 2 or 3 seed in their region.

Except for one.

You would have expected the best pitcher in baseball to do just that...

Jay made right call.

Not even close, even if they gone on to win the regional and the entire fricking thing, it will still not excuse the moronic decision to throw your ace against Tulane...

Anyone defending that decision is defending with blind loyalty...

I’m getting the impression the people you’re debating don’t follow college baseball. I’m starting to think it’s a waste of time. I’m going to let them believe what they want and move on.

And if you lose game one without your ace, your point is moot.
