It’s on the restaurant to properly market themselves.

People don’t want that shite in their towns. It all starts with a drag show “behind closed doors”

Next thing, they are reading to kids at schools. Put an end to it before it starts.

Sounds like a liberal woman in a small conservative town thought it would be smart to basically thumb her nose at the locals. She thought she was going to show them - but they showed her.

I'd expect the same if someone moved to San Francisco and threw a pro-NRA, pro-Life, pro-Trump "night".

Except that’s not how it works don’t you think? See pizza places, bakeries, etc… that didn’t want to cater to LGBTQ. They got intimidated, endured sit ins, got sued, etc…

frick people like the restaurant owner and you. Your kind wants conservatives to always take the high road and ignore people shitting on our values. But when liberals do it … it seems to be just fine and changing business policy is warranted.

Know your clientele. Lots of businesses and companies are learning this the hard way. Perhaps they aren’t learning anything but you can’t force this shite on large parts of the middle class with morals and a belief system centered on family values.

So, up your solution is to shite on the values of another large part of the population?
Everybody must observe your values?

Trannies are not a large part of the population.

Except if you take 3 minutes to read the article she sold out the shows and was forced out by the land lord. Can only imagine the OT reaction if a landlord in NOLA forced a popular Trump themed bar to shut down

Early said she wanted her restaurant to have an inviting feeling including strong equality.

“I have all walks of life come through that door,” said Early.

So, she's a crusader that picked a small conservative town to open her Drag pub, basically to rub it in the faces of the small town people.

Selling out when the venue holds no more than 40 people doesn’t pay the bills. She is acting like she sold out satterfields or Somme big venue. When you don’t have that many people eat there in a week there is a problem. But she is trying to twist the whole thing to make money on the gofundme.

Living there I haven’t seen all the stuff she is talking about. People have been fairly quiet in that they just didn’t go to her restaurant when it all came out. Sure there may have been some people tell her they didn’t approve but they weren’t protesting up and down the sidewalk. All the noise and commotion has come from her and her newspaper articles.

The rest of us will forego eating at her restaurant though

And thats the real reason it was shuttered. She's just blaming the drag show for sympathy and a go fund me retirement

No, I don’t shite on anything. I don’t spend money with those businesses. For example… I don’t Starbucks. At all.

I’m not their target clientele anyway. I cast my economic vote with companies and businesses I support.

What a shame, but it’s a worthless, shithole town so no one will care.

Who was it that said "a fool and his money are soon parted"? This woman is the poster child for lack of self awareness. She is obviously a bit slow on the uptake to think such an event would fly in New Roads.

What would she sue for? The woke restauranteur admits her 1 year lease expired, she went month-to-month, fell behind on new rent payments, and was asked to vacate the premises within 30 days.

That’s sad. I had a 5yr old kids birthday party booked there in June. Such a sad day.

McDonalds used to have great birthday parties for kids. I remember getting to throw hacky sacks in the pickle bucket. Great times!

I don't see a problem with what she did.

I'm not a fan of drag shows and would never go to one.

She had a 21+ show for people who like that kind of stuff and sold out the restaurant. There are people who are entertained by drag shows and that's completely fine. They are no better or worse than anyone else.

That's the beauty of the USA. It's OK to have a different opinion.

I don't see this as an example of pushing the transgender agenda (which I have my own opinion about and I won't share). These were all consenting adults.

You choose to be offended by something. It's a lot easier just to ignore things you don't like.

The real question is: if true, was it legal for the landlord to cut off the AC and raise the rent?
