She’s the poster child of a 40-22 regional exit coach

Who's the replacement?

(I'm not saying that we shouldn't... just legitimately wondering who is a potential candidate from those who follow the sport closer than I do.)

Who’s even a big game coach that we could snipe from someone? Have no clue about the softball landscape

Her players seem to love her, as well as some of the die-hard softball fans...but how's that old saying about "keep doing what you've always done and you'll get what you always got".
It's time to move on, Woodward! Let's get us a more energetic head coach that can bring some life into this stagnant program.

It’s been time to fire her. If she were the coach of any other of our sports, and getting the same results, people would have called for her head a long time ago. It’s been weird to not see many people complaining about her. We have all the resources and then some, to be a top softball program. Time to see how good we can really become.

Stagnant program and actually pretty boring to watch. Definitely time for an upgrade.

If she would replace the hitting coach, she would be okay. The pitching and defense of the team is very good. The hitting has not be as good as it should be.

They just won a series over a Top 10 team and were one 1-0 extra inning loss from finishing tied for 3rd in the conference. This season was always going to be judged based on how they do in the NCAA tournament. Let’s let that play out first before drawing conclusions.

I get what youre saying but this thread is premature. No one gives a shite about the SEC tournament. Lets see what happens in the regionals.

Besides last year LSU is still making it to the super regionals every single year, which I know LSU fans want more than that but thats not terrible in anyway.

The biggest issue to me is her philosophy on offense. This team has lacked offense for a long time now and Id imagine it will be our undoing this year too.

Also when it comes to firing the coach thread, it always gets overlooked. Its like yeah that's great but who you going to replace her with?

Does anyone really care beside the players, their parents, and coaches?

I love Beth Torina and still do and always will, but unfortunately she needs to go after the season. She's been here a decade (haven't realized it's been that long), and like you all have been saying this program has been stagnant and stale. Has been for the past few years.

I have no clue who we'd get that makes sense but if Woodward wants softball to become contenders again, they gotta get some new blood in here. If they're cool with underperforming expectations, then go ahead and keep her.

As with any position and one it seems that Woodward tries to emulate… you better have a guy lined up or near agreement with backups to fire successful coaches.. she runs a clean program but has underperformed but no where near the level of say the WBB program.

No, it isn't; she has had very good teams at LSU. They won 40 games and will be in a regional.

So, we can call her Beth 'Miles' Torina now?
